LOREX NR908 4k cameras choppy

Are you using a 4K monitor connected directly to the NVR ?
What are you using to look at the video ?

Hi, Thanks, but it's not the monitor... direct connection is clear. It's the remote viewing that is choppy.

If the direct connect is clear then the problem is with your network or with the viewing device.

Provided a detailed network diagram. Provided details manufacturer and part numbers of all devices.

Is your remote viewing on the local network or on the internet.
If internet what is your outbound speed, who is your internet provider. Do you have the NVR configured to change the resolution for remote viewing, to reduce network load.

You need to provide a lot more detailed information then you are providing.

Also the end device you are using to view the stream you will want to check as it needs to decode the H.264/265 stream for display

Would direct connection to hdmi on nvr have more load to the processor compare to say using a separate PC to load smartpss and view the stream? Would the latter have the decoding load passed onto the smartpss PC instead?

Hi @civic17

I believe so. As I understand it the NVR would stream the H.264/265 encoded stream out and the viewing PC ( running smartpss ) would then decode it for display.
