Is this a known issue that 4MP is not supported yet? I am not getting any video out of the Main stream, but secondary works fine. Reducing resolution to 2MP doesn't do anything. NVR 7608NI

Do you have h264+ on? Maybe that's why

Nope, it's disabled

What's the firmware version of the 7608NI?
If you can use telnet to connect to the NVR, do you see anything in 'cat /proc/kmsg' (full ash) or 'dmesg' (protect Shell - psh) after you attempt to connect the camera?
If there is an error, it will likely be visible in the logs.

I got 7608ni-e2/8p with 3.3.4 and cam is 4mp 5.3.3

I am having a similar issue, NVR will not play 4mp stream, if I change to 2mp it plays fine. At 4mp I get error "stream not supported"

CAM: DS-2CD2342WD-I (V5.3.3 build 150630)
NVR: DS-7816N-E2 (3.0.8 build 140825)

Ya I think I read in another thread they updated the firmware of there 7800 and it worked,
don't want to chance it my cams are a mix of regions and all work fine.

Not impressed with this 4mp cam at all main reason I got it was for the 120dB WDR and it is awful.

@Mel42, update to 3.0.10 to see if that works first. But updating to v3.3.4 later will allow you to use H.264+

As for the WDR you need to play with the settings to get it to work on some. For some reason mine are pretty decent out of the packet. I don't know why yet.

I don't know if this will be helpful or not but I have a LTN8816-P16 with 4mp cams & mainstream is working fine using H.264.
Bear in mind I have no idea what I'm doing ;)
I can't even figure out the port forwarding thing....LOL

I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot this, but it didn't work when I configured everything last night, just wanted to check if this supported.

I hate to keep asking the same question. But xxx2 is supported fine. xxx5 it depends. Without knowing which model you have, it's difficult to know what's wrong. I wish everyone would stop saying 4MP camera when there are three different type of 4MP cameras from Hikvision now.

I have all my models listed in the signature

I played with this more and looks like it's not the resolution that was culprit. I had my bitrate set to 16000 when I was testing things, reducing it to 8000 resolved the issue.
