So it's better to allow entire neighborhoods to burn up due to all of the above reasons for NOT using saltwater?

I don't buy it. We give away "surplus" fire equipment and trucks to Ukraine but we can't budget to replace hoses, pumps, etc. every few years or as needed due to corrosion from using salt water to save homes?

It boils down to deciding between 2 actions, one apparently too difficult for brain-dead liberals:
  • Thousands of homes lost = Likely billions of dollars but immesureable hardship
  • Replace a hundred hoses, pumps, etc. annually = A measely hundred thousand dollars

Fully agree. We are not talking using the water permanently, no way a few uses will damage the equip. I use to run my boat in both fresh and salt water. Sure over time the salt would probably do harm, don't know, did not keep the boat for 50 years. YOU JUST WASH OUT the salt water...Duh...the Outboard I had used the water from the river/lake/bay for cooling...

My house is on the flats, so no danger of fires, but they turned off the power for four days anyway. That’s the standard response to high winds now. We have high winds every year.

In LA, we’ve become like South Africa, not even trying to maintain or improve the infrastructure. People who can afford it buy solar panels and generators. Everyone else goes looting.

Ironically, I’m watching all this from a 500 year-old city in Mexico, where the phones, power and internet are all much better than they were 30 years ago.

If you think insurance companies are not making TONS of dollars, then
why do they have their names on tall buildings in every large city!
They male money manipulating the Stock Market.
Weasel clauses (they don't pay off) fill countless pages of a policy.
The first 2 years of policy payment go back to the insurance agent.
Insurance companies paid off State politicians to require you to buy their
policies.
Bought Radar Guns for cops to write more tickets to raise YOUR rates.

in the name of a dollar bill.

And this is why that Luigi character is being deemed a hero by many people. Granted that was the CEO of a health insurance company that he took out, but at some level the games the insurance companies play are all the same.

So today the LA Police have said that there will be no arrests for Arson.
You are free to set fires without fear of being arrested (but only if you're an illegal with Felony's and a torch)
