Mini PTZ camera impressions! 2015 PTZ camera of the year? AVOID THIS CAMERA

I told myself that I wasn't going to order one until BI supported PTZ. My patience ran out. I contacted Monica and ordered the PoE model tonight.

Welcome on board. I was waiting for you to finally give in :)

Looks like they sold quite a few of these now and gaining popularity. So far the ones I have are working great, except annoying motion detection which sending out tons of false alarms. Frankly, after initial setup I am no longer using PTZ functions, they are static.

No, I don't. I wonder if this is just upgradable with the zipped file.

I received mine today and may have gotten a bad one.

I initially connected and discovered the camera with my HIK SADP just fine, changed the IP to my network but now can't get a good connection.

When I connect via IE I get the "Network Anomaly" error at login.

I've tried different injectors, straight into my POE switch running my HIKs and using a Power supply. I even connected directly to a laptop and still see the same crappy network connection.

The only "funny" thing I do is to set the gateway to something bogus so the camera can't talk outside, but I do that with ALL my cameras.

SADP no longer discovers the camera.

I looked inside but don't see anything resembling a reset button. Does anyone know how to factory reset?

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Michael

I had "Network Anomaly" at the login too, it turned out I had conflicting IP configuration in my case

Anybody knows if the IR can be turned off? Still staying in night mode. I want to use external IR illuminators.
I didn't find an option to disable IRs, perhaps you can send a request to Monica to include this feature.

Thanks, but I don't have a conflict. I see the same problem with the camera connected directly to a laptop. It's either bad or it doesn't like the GW address I used.
You can look on the first page (#12 post) where I was getting Network Anomaly caused by defective POE, then I was also getting the same error when I had IP conflict. Have you tried 12V power?

Also, instead of SADP try Client Hikvision IVMS-4200 search.

Yes, no difference.

It's possible that the GW address I used is conflicting with something though I don't know why it would matter.

I use 192.168.1.254, which is unused in my network, for all my other cameras. I think I used something else like .2 on this guy. Guess I was in a hurry to get it running.

I've messaged Monica and emailed huisuncctv.com asking if there's a way to factory reset.. hopefully there is.

If you go into the PTZ menu and select the light bulb icon at the bottom it has a drop down menu for "Mode" and you can select AUTO, ON and OFF.

When I had IP issues SADP didn't detect camera, but I was able to detect using Client software Hikvision IVMS-4200.

If you do this i Believe you're actually leaving it in day mode, which means colour picture and IR cut filter, so no night vision (IR visibility).

@jptheking, if you go into the same menu, and set the 'IR near' and 'IR far' values to 1, then zoom the camera in to 10x, the IRs should turn off and stay off whatever you do, until you change those values again.

If you keep the settings for day and night to auto
Then click the light bulb and turn the I'd off it will switch as usual between day and night but keep the ir off

I have my speed dome set like this and the interface is the same for the mini ptz

Alternatively call present 95 and use the osd there is an option for it in there use the ptz to go up and down and iris open to select!

Typo should say ir instead of it

Issue is your gateway. If possible, resetting to defaults would be the easiest way, but meanwhile you should be able to use pc/laptop and change the NIC card IP to 192.168.1.254, Subnet: 255.255.255.0, GW: 192.168.1.254 and connect the pc/laptop and camera to a switch. Use the web gui to access the camera and fix the gateway. Gateway more than likely is 192.168.1.1, with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. try that to see if it works.

Yellowhorn, onvif device manager v2.2.250 sees my Huisun and has a hard factory reset option. I haven't tried it though.
