Mini PTZ camera impressions! 2015 PTZ camera of the year? AVOID THIS CAMERA

They are definitely amazing for the price. As a matter of fact Hikvision outdoor cams lost its appeal for me because of it.

+1 on that. I'm thinking about replacing one of my Hik 2432's that's mounted under my deck with one of the mini ptz cameras. Would probably go with the 3X model so that I could get the wide angle when zoomed out.

The only issue that's holding me back is...I don't need another camera. However, I assure you that this is only a temporary condition which will soon be rectified as soon as I come up with a marginal justification.

I didn't need one, but once I got it, I needed three of them and now I need to justify to get two more.

That's funny stuff right there....LOL
How about a backup just in case one of your several cams has to be taken down for a good cleaning?

I connected this cam on nvr 7608NI-DS-ST firmware v3.0.2 build 131112,
with Hikvision protocol ok,
but with onvif protocol i hava error ""Offline (Parameter error)""
why?
It not onvif?

I don't need another camera either but when it turns into a hobby, you always have to have the latest and greatest. :peaceful:

I purchased one of the "Full config (POE, Alarm, Audio inputs)" in the first link first post a couple of weeks ago for $149

Model Number:DM-SCB405I-V10-E

Today I asked Monica if there would there be a discount if I purchased another one - and she gave me this link and asked me to share it in the forum. If you look at the model number - it is the same, the description is a little different, but the price is $139 ($10 off)

I have been reading the thread. A lot
Of great info. Trying to put the information together. With these outdoor cameras do they need to be hard wired? What is the learning curve on the install?

Yes, they need to be hard wired or you could use powerlink adapters. They're actually pretty easy to set up. I used a laptop to set my first one up. Only took a few minutes. If you do need help, there are plenty of members here that would be willing to help.

what do you mean hard wired? it depend on what model you choose if you choose camera with poe then it just need UTP cable, but if you choose not to use poe then you have to plug adaptor near from your cam beside UTP cable

Hardwired as in they need a Cat5 at minumum...I simply used a cable stapler to 'hardwire' mine on the deck. Setup is not bad, but a bit tedious, since one doesn't do it everyday (some folks on this board DO do it everyday, though!) :) Cheers, and welcome!

What does it take to get the Audio working with audio version? Do I need an external mic? recommendations?

Hmmm..great question! Do we have anyone here WITH the Mic/Alarm rig?

LOL! Dalepa cannot resist...must be assimilated!

Yeah, I think a external mic would be needed. Not sure if the mic would need a pre-amp or not. Has anyone that has that model been able to get the audio to work?

ah oke got it, i guest Hardwired is like power line for electicity :)

thx for correction

Welp, I wasn't sure either! My idea of 'softwired' is just running a trip hazard extension cord! :)

i think i have allready mention about audio on page 30

Ah..I thought this issue was the result of an external mic, picking up an interior fan noise...is there no built-in microphone?
