Missed Motion on BI

Hi Guys,

New to BI and I recently have upgraded from a Reolink E1 outdoor (focus stopped working) to a Dahua T5442T-ZE. Amazing difference.

Two nights ago, the reason for my cameras happened again but BI missed it, the camera itself caught and recorded the event.

I have attached my motion settings, and pictures of the event. Any way I can get BI to work like Dahua settings?

TIA

It's trial and error. Try reducing the Make time to 0.5 or 0.3. I don't think your zones will work until you put something in the 'Object crosses zone' box.

For testing though I would first turn off the advanced settings and just mess around with the basic settings, which includes the Make time and then when you're getting the results you expect then move on to the advanced section.

Change the algorithm to simple and as mentioned lower the make time as well as contrast and object size.

Turn off the object travels 100 pixels and object exceeds 67% - those are used to knock out false triggers and you have the opposite going. I don't use these two options on any camera.

Thanks guys, I have adjusted the BI settings to those suggested.

Use the much more reliable IVS detection instead of motion in the camera.
It is also important you properly "tune" the camera for your FOV.
Wittaj Camera tuning Tips.

I have followed that guide to setup the camera thanks, I am just looking into the IVS now. Are you ment to disable motion detection and only run IVS? and how can you tell which trigger created the recording in BI?

Yes, turn off all motion detection in the camera, and use IVS instead.
