2022 17.3%
2023 24.1%

That is a 133% increase since 2020. And I have NEVER had a claim on this house which we bought in 2011. Thirteen years claim free.

Mine is due in July, crap, I don't need these extra expenses being semi-retired and the wife retired...

Another thing about home owner's insurance from my new agent (dumped my old one of 20 years since she did not respond to my requests for a check on the increase). In certain counties in TX, you can no longer get 1% deductible for wind/hail on new policies. The going rate in Harris County is minimum of 3%.

Yeah I was told that too, check on Farmers Ins., we still have 1% but on named storms it is 2%. Down by the coast I heard is 5%...
Of course this might change on our July renewal...

your mortgage is the Banks Ransom money ..

Even if the Internet is down?
Speaking of Internet, so I got talked into one of T-Mobile's CellSpot boxes to help our service while in the house. It is 4G but we do get 5 bars, it works, Except when the Internet is down...lol Kinda like the AT&T outage this past week, it even knocked out 911 Centers. Doesn't take much to kill services no a days...

For my house insurance in Oregon:
2021 +9%
2022 +16%
2023 +42%
2024 don't know yet
It's part of master plan. Force people out of "their" belongings. You will own nothing and like it.

Even if the Internet is down?
If the world internet is down we are in a SHTF situation. The current outage was a provider, not the internet backbone.

Plus there are parallel networks in play that will keep data moving.

Up in NY, some people leave the outside of house alone (painting, etc), otherwise your taxes go up. If your old barn collapses, don't tear the rest down, otherwise they see that as an improvement...
