MyCommerce/Digital River meltdown

Due to non-payment, perhaps their impending bankruptcy, we have had to expedite our separation from MyCommerce/Digital River. For new licenses and maintenance renewals, please use the new purchase links found on this website or the ones found in version 5.9.8 or newer.

The very painful fact is that if you purchased any Blue Iris product through MyCommerce/Digital River since July 1, 2024, we have not received any of this money. This has been an extremely stressful time here, considering that more than 1/4 of a year’s revenue is being withheld, and we must consider the possibility of legal action, and that the money may never be recovered. Of course we have decided to “do the right thing” and honor these purchases. If you have the time and wherewithal, we are considering asking customers to contest those charges and then repay us directly.

Funny how this hasn't hit the news sites yet but you can find lots of people complaining online if you look:

This is my little meltdown with DR 5 years ago, down at the bottom. I can't imagine the snafus perpertrated upon consumers by DR in that period since.

Good riddance, DR. Thanks, Ken for giving DR the boot. Sorry y'all are getting shafted by them.

For those who have been using PayPal to auto renew through DR, be sure to log into your PayPal acct. and make that subscription In-active.
Thanks for the heads-up. It took me awhile to figure out how to do this in the Android PayPal app...
3-bar menu (top left) > Manage finances > Manage autopay.

I had entries for both MyCommerce and Digital River GMB GMBH. I inactivated both.

I just received an email from Ken a few minutes after emailing him:

Just hold off for now disputing anything ... I am still negotiating with them for payment.
My Extended Maintenance & Support renewed recently (9/6). I paid via PayPal and they require you to contact the company as a first step to contesting the charge. I highly suspect this will be fruitless and a waste of time, especially because I did receive a working renewal license key, and was billed only once.

Rather than waste my time, I told Ken I’d happily purchase the renewal again to make sure he got paid, and asked how best to do this. Above was his response.

I took my payment info off of their site anyway so I don't forget about it. I'll re-up however it works out later. I'm good for another 6 months or so.

I requested a refund from Digital River through Paypal and be sure that Ken gets it, If it is refunded. What a scam of a company!

Please report back if you are successful in getting a refund from PayPal.
I will, but I seriously doubt it since the payment was made 3 months ago. But everyone should flood Paypal with refund requests and maybe their bot will notice something.

Posted on slashdot earlier today.
Developers have been having nonpayment troubles with Digital River for past 3 months.

Looks like Digital River has been taking customers money and not passing along.

good to know thanks - my automatic payments section was under wallet on my app.
But looks like I didn't use paypal which I thought I did. Not sure how I did, but I know I used a virtual card so that is frozen, Will erase it just in case.
Thanks

I logged into my account at the MyCommerce web site and cancelled the automatic payments on file for the BI maintenance and changed my credit card info to a card that had been compromised and is now blocked by the credit card provider! So there should be no way that they can try to charge anything to my current card!

Thanks - managed to get online just now and do the same
'You have cancelled your Blue Iris Extended Maintenance and Support subscription. You will also receive a cancellation confirmation by e-mail.'

So I guess we just have to wait for instructions on what to do next? Mine is valid until 2025 though
