MyCommerce/Digital River meltdown

Still no debits/credits to my CC. So, idk.

Well, this would explain the e-mail I received a few days ago. I figured maybe Blueiris had joined the companies that had gone woke, figured out a couple of my user names on other sites and was canceling my maintenance subscription because I voted for Trump. Silly me......

From email today:

Go here:

This link should be placed up in the STICKY section. Many of us update every other year or when needed and have older software that points to a dead Digital River page.

Reading about the DR 'meltdown' I found the link, but otherwise may never have seen it. IPCAMTALK's home page has a link to buy a =new= license, but not an extended maintenance license.

Did you look at the Blue Iris Software site? :idk:

These both are down near the bottom on the Blue Iris Software site at support and allow a purchase of either type of maintenance:

Well, even though I already had v5.9.9 of BI, I could not renew this morning. :( The Stripe web page could not come up on-screen because BI Startup was set to "always on top". Worse, the "auto-renewal" feature only works when the BI Update modal window is displaying. If that window isn't displayed, the localhost link won't work. I've now paid for, but very unfortunately not received a renewal key. The invoice and receipt PDF files do not contain this update key, nor does the e-mail message to which they were attached. I believe I'll need to contact BI Support to receive a renewal key, hopefully during the next day or two. My BI license expires Wednesday. :(

I hit the "Support" button and sent an e-mail to BI Support with the invoice and receipt PDFs. Hopefully they will send the key in the next couple of days.

Jeez.
What's REALLY sad is this, IMO: How frickin' long have we been buying software, including downloads, over the Internet now? For a L-O-N-G time, I'd say...and without a hitch, too.

It boils down to this, again IMO: a vendor MUST select a trouble-free, dependable, highly-rated company to dispense their product and collect the revenue. This may be, and I certainly hope so, a temporary glitch for this vendor and will be known years from now as one of the best. I'd LOVE to be able to say so.

Who ever manages their web server should be given the boot, to expose all that detail when there is an error is very bad security practice, not to mention poor output for the end users, it should have redirected to some form of friendly error page or holding/under maintenance type page.

Pretty sure that is an IIS thing vs. site operator.

Annnnddd... IIS is a M$ windows product. So that pretty much sums it up right there
