Need Help for Custom firmware for Lorex LNR616/NR916-N 4K POE NVR

hello i have a 4K Lorex on the Sticker it says
16ch NVR 4K 2HD 16PoE 60Hz
Model NR916-N
Serial# ND031709013507
Device id lnvdf79101e3...
manufacture date 09 2017

Powered on the info button shows
Model LNR616
Serial# ND031709013507
Device id lnvdf79101e3
firmware version 00138
Build date 07-08-2017
Client port 35000
http port 80

Cameras ip 10.1.1.28 Lorex LNE8974AB
My intention is to breath new Life into this NVR and Cameras, is there a Dahua or Hikvision firmware i can update to the NVR?

Wow got it working with Dahua Firmware

i set my pc static ip to 192.0.0.128
i set my nvr static ip to 192.0.0.64
i had my NVR on DHCP before, so gonna try again

Antivirus disabled
Firewall now off

ok so i tried this firmware DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_NP_V4.000.0000000.1.R.20190809.zip
and it bricked the NVR, i wasn't worried because it was useless anyways, i restarted twice but still nothing

so i tried this firmware and WOW, now i have Dahua on my once Dead Lorex NVR

this is what i did
1) set my PC ip settings to
ipv4 192.0.0.128
sub mask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.0.0.1

2) then i used and run as admin Tftpd64 Server by Ph. Jounin

3) extracted all the firmware files in C:\Program Files\Tftpd64 folder
changed the Server interfaces to 192.0.0.128, just leave it open changed nothing

4)open NCOM v1.02
Hit *** before the countdown ends
typed: printenv
and hit enter

setenv bootdelay 9
enter
saveenv
enter


setenv serverip 192.0.0.128
enter
setenv ipaddr 192.0.0.64
enter
setenv gatewayip 255.255.255.0
enter
setenv netmask 192.0.0.1
enter
saveenv
enter

type: reset
hit enter

Hit *** before the countdown ends
type: run up
hit enter

then the Magic happens

then i bricked it again by updating it via webui with DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_NP_V4.000.0000000.1.R.20190809.zip, so i tried installing oldDH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_Eng_V3.215.0000000.3.R.20171211.zip but was getting error

hisilicon # run up stmmac_init,692,0x70431,3 miiphy_speed,366,1040 miiphy_speed,366,1040 ARP Retry count exceeded; starting again do_tftp_secure failed
still boot stuck at logo

did some google search then tried this from these 2 original post

so i download this update.img file and walla... my nvr was back and running
add this file to TFTP dir then type in NCOM



so i was unable to ping my NVR so i used my last known ip in the terminal and configured my PC in the same ip range
setenv ipaddr 192.168.1.128
setenv serverip 192.168.1.108
setenv gatewayip 255.255.255.0
setenv netmask 192.168.1.1
saveenv

reset

run up

then updated firmware againg via webui with this file

i tried updating camera via webui and update failed but not bricked, only rebooted

I am gonna retry upgrading my Lorex NVR again one day. I have so many little projects i just can't find the time.

Glad to see people do these things. ( hek one day i may find the time to complete my Blue Irirs transformation!) I bought BI4 long ago and then BI5, built a nice computer designated for BI5 but still am using my NVR. I'm not lazy i just need to dedicate the time.

I've downloaded the Dahua Firmwares from here

and tried updating the Lorex via Dahua Configtool & SmartPSS and the got message ipgrade failed and the Camera only rebooted.
is there a correct way or another way to do this?
