Just purchased a IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E from Andy and after a few hours, Blue Iris will have about a 30 second delay on the live feed. If I restart Blue Iris, the camera becomes live again but after a while the camera regains a big lag. Even though the feed is lagging significantly on Blue Iris, the live feed in my browser is still live. So I believe it is a Blue Iris issue.

This is my 12th camera and I copied almost all settings from my other IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 camera.
System specs shouldn't be a problem 8700k CPU, 16GB RAM, Win10, SSD, etc. CPU usage is at about 20% with all cameras recording.

Why do you have your max frame rate so high? Lower it down to 15 and see what happens.

The frame rate is set in the camera, not BI. BI will "take" whatever the camera sends to it. Check in the camera and lower it to 10 or 15 fps there if you want to give that a try.

I have both cameras at 50fps because they are LPRs and I need the high fps. My other camera at 50fps has no lag, I’ve had that setup for about 2yrs. They only record on motion.

Just out of curiosity, why do you "need" 50fps? Are you a bank, casino or other high value user? I thought for LPR a higher shutter speed was the trick, unless you're trying to read plates on a race track.

Maybe I don't. I thought it was always nice to have if you have the resources plus the cars go flying down my street.
I'l try changing my FPS but I would wonder my other camera at 50fps has no issues.

You just might have hit "saturation" in terms of network, CPU and drive speeds. I run my cameras at 10FPS, but not trying to LPR, and the motion does get a little "jerky" if they're doing over 40mph or so. We get 'em doing 50 and 60 as well, but even at those speeds 10FPS should work, or even 15FPS, with the right aperture and shutter speed. LPR is a big balancing act from what I've read so have fun!

Theres a whole thread here on LPR cameras. If you haven't seen it, have a look.

When I first added my IPC-HDW5831R-ZE I thought everything was fine however later realized it was lagging by around 30 seconds, I changed the Make/Model options in the Video settings of the camera and found one that worked without a lag and PTZ worked.

Nothing seems to have worked yet. I tried lower the FPS and changing the camera model in BI.
I also found that if I walk in front of the camera, it is delayed on BI but it is also in slow motion sometimes. So weird..

Have you tried disabling the other cameras and running just this problematic one?

ensure that the BI machine is connected to the switch with the cameras or a switch connected to the switch with the cameras...it should NOT be connected to the router.

I have two switches.
Switch1 (4cams) --> Switch2 (5cams +BI machine) --> Router
The two switches are ZyXel GS1900-10HP

Mostly IPC-HDW5231R-Z
1x IPC-HFW5231E-Z12
1x IPC-HFW5231E-Z12E (problem camera with 30 second delay, it is camera LRP1 below).
However, this camera has no delay in the live browser viewer. Makes me think it is an issue with BI.

Why does lpr1 have a high fps and a high bit rate.
Provide screen shots of the camera settings.
Also why is elapse time lower on the lpr1, is the camera dropping off line ?

Set the lpr1 and lpr2 to 15 fps.

Do you use hardware acceleration in BI ?

Is "Limit decoding unless required" checked ?

Have you tried recording continuous for LPR1 ?

How many cameras are using motion detection in BI?

Are the cars you're watching running 80+ mph? I'm getting great results on a residential street at 5 fps. 15 fps was overkill for the cars going 35 mph on my street. IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 LPR from 137 feet

Is "Limit decoding unless required" checked ? No, I don't have this checked for any of my cameras.

Have you tried recording continuous for LPR1 ? I'll try that today. I had recording completely turned off and the problem still happened.

How many cameras are using motion detection in BI? Probably all of them but I turned off motion detection and had the same problem.
I found that if I have even though it is 30s delay on the camera, it will skip and be jump a few seconds every once in a while.
So far I've done the following:
Restarted everything (switches, router, BI machine, etc)
Lowered frame
Tried different Ethernet cables
Tried second switch
Updated firmware in BI
Changed the camera model in BI
Turned off record and motion completely

This is my 12th camera on my system and the only camera with this problem. While the delay is only through BI.
I found someone on Reddit with a similar problem that posted a few days ago:

Below are the settings to this particular camera but they are same to my other LPR camera that works fine.

Post the video configure tab in BI.
also test using an rtsp stream to vlc...the browser is not a proper test.

What are you using the sub stream for ?
Set frame rate to 15.
Set frame rate type to VBR.
Iframe to 15 or 30.

The bit rate of 6144 Kb/s is about the same as 764 KB/s.

Please study and understand the difference between CBR and VBR and there effect of display quality.

Also please answer the other questions.

This tab? I tried all the Dahua Models with the same result. This is also the same as my other cameras that have no problem.
