Why did you buy a 48 port switch for 6 cams? send it back. Its a waste of money and will be loud as hell.
But this Amazon.com: ZyXEL 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed PoE Switch with 70 Watt Budget - Fanless Design [GS1900-8HP]: Electronics
buy an i5-6500 optiplex/elitedesk machine for about 300
buy 6 dahua varifcal turret starlight - see thread...
dont buy domes

So quick sync a must and definitely no Video card and just on board GFX ok

Already tested the switch it is pretty quiet but it meets my needs and will be away in a storage room with the patch panel and rack

You likely don't need Poe for the rest of your drops use another switch the switch will be Extremely Loud. Don't build a machine you can buy and I5 6500 based system for 300 bucks search The Forum for Optiplex or elitedesk. You want at least 4 gigabytes of memory but ideally you should have 8... I have a sticky thread explaining that even though bi says it uses little memory more memory does reduce CPU consumption under certain loads...

The Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turrent indeed are the generally preferred cameras here when you need a good night time image.

A few people are adding one or 2 starlight bullets with greater zoom capabilities in some cases.
( example, rural home and wanting to see a greater distance down the driveway )

General rule - do not use domes outside.

have fun building!

Good price, do feel free to ping Andy ( @EMPIRETECANDY ) and let him know you are a member of ipcamtalk when you place the order.

Also, you may want to pick up some of the junction boxes ( PFA137 ) if you plan to not have the connectors shoved back into the attic or wall space.
