New Hikvision Acusense NVR or DeepInView NVR?

As this would be my first NVR set up, and knowing that ColorVu is only available in 4MP, would an 8MP Darkfighter simply give me more detail.
Have you ever felt the 4MP ColorVu left you wanting more resolution?

As many people say on here, do not chase a 8mp dream. 4mp is by far more resolution, clarity, and detail you will ever need. And to answer your question simply, no. I made the uninformed decision when I first purchased my first camera thinking the more mp the better. And after finding this site I quickly realized I was wrong. And normally the more mp the worse the camera operates at night.

Also, lewic has nailed it re: Acusense. The technology simply isn't there yet. The NVRs are underpowered CPU wise, hence the ability only to do 4/16 channels. No one wants accurate motion detection more than I do. But until the technology matures, best bet is to save your money vs. paying top dollar for something that doesn't work all that well anyway.

Hopefully, with the recent backlash against facial recognition, perhaps the manufacturers will put more effort into human vs. noise. Then again, not sure that there is all that much of a backlash in China.
 
100%. You are far better with more cameras with greater zoom than trying to get everything from wide high res cam.

Remember, for a given physical sensor size in inches, an increase in megapixels means less area for each megapixel. Which means less light gathering capability.

I have this same exact issues now with Mobotix cameras. Say their activity sensor has minimized false alarms I haven't seen it this far.
Mobotix is miles ahead of Hikvision with regard to accurately detection motion without false alarms. Just may be some setup issues with activity sensor. Also excellent audio performance.

They hundreds of miles behind with regard to everything else. Mx Management Center (MxMC) is probably the least intuitive software application I have ever encountered. Not just in video surveillance but in any field. Absolutely horrible.

I'm honestly surprised that the company is still in business considering the price point.
 
Finally got my DS-2CD5A46G0-IZHS! I'll be testing it over the next couple of weeks and comparing it to the rest of my Hikvision collection.

Hey people, can you recommend me bestbuy NVR for my current setup: 1 piece Hik 2347 ColorVu and 2 piece Hik 2051-idw1.
In future i will add few more cameras. So 8 channels NVR will be fine for me
 
Struggeling to unerstand the functions of these acusense/ deepmind NVRs... For example on a iDS-7732NXI-I4/16P/16S(B) nvr do you get the filtering of humans an cars function described in this video:

Do you need a special acusense camera for the function to work on the NVR or can you use any hikvision camera model ?
 
You have a choice of purchasing cameras that have the different VCAs (line crossing, face detection, etc) in their firmware and the camera itself will be responsible and then just report to the NVR. The NVRs mentioned also have these capabilities and they will handle the VCA events. Most NVR are limited to 4/8 channels of themselves preforming these VCA duties as I guess it is processors dependent.

I see from the speck that the smart filtering have the following limitation: " Up to 16-ch 2 MP (H.264/H.265) video analysis for human and vehicle recognition to reduce false alarm".

Anyone that understands or know how this translate for higher MP cameras? Ie how many channels are available for smart filtering if you have only 4MP cameras? 8? If you have 8 MP cameras? 4?

Or will it only work with 2MP cameras? Or will it work with all types of cameras if the resolution is "Dumbed down" to 2MP?

Input from anyone that understand this specification this is welcome.
 
Same questions here... So, if i understand correct; Accusense only has to be present in one of both; being it the camera, or the nvr? (preferrably the NVR i guess?) Indeed, what happens with the 8K cameras then, not usable, or downgraded, or just limiting the amount of accusense-capable cameras?

Currently im upgrading my system with some cameras from Andy. I have my NVR for approx. 4-5 years now, and as im expanding my cameras, i want to refresh disks and put new ones in. Might just as well buy a new NVR in the same breath, and sell my current one on a marketplace.
i have a colorvu, darkfighter, some mini domes, earlyer domes, 2 8mp, etc. in total approx. 8-10 cameras when done. All need to have good night vision, and i want to put more intelligence into it. Especcially face recognition, and event search capabilities when going through footage.
 
It is confusioning and to make matters worse, it varies on which data sheet you look at. Hik has sites and products everwhere and as their firmware, it defers depending on site visited. Now to answer your question; my 7608NI has 8 channels and can handle 4 8MP non-Acusense cameras and 4 8MP Acusense camera per a reply I received from Hik. Look at the total bandwidth for you NVR unit. May be that they are saying 16 X 2 MB = 32M or 4 8MB cameras.
I have an Acusense 7608NI and have 2 8mp Hik cameras that are themselves Acusense. My data sheet list up to 4 8 MP NON Acusence camera can be used and the NVR will handle theses VCA processes. Interesting read:

My NVR is a Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2/8P and it is an Acusense NVR. The Deepminded is also deep pockets and I'd beleive it would be for the more business/security minded folks.

I personally have only 2 cameras attached to my NVR and they are both Acusence Hik cameras so I can not help you here. Maybe others will chime in with their experiences. I did try one of my Lorex cameras and it did attach via Onvif, could view but absolutely nothing else, not even motion detection.

My Acusense NVR allows up to 4 "dumb" camera to connected and the NVR takes over the processing and acts as a Acusense filter for those 4 cameras.
 
Suddenly I started to take "continuous" false events from 2 "dump" (as coney27 says) cameras working under NVR Acusense function.

I was thousands miles away from home, at the United States when that happened and the only thing I could do was to reboot the NVR and the cameras.
That seemed to work for some weeks until I returned back home.
The events I was receiving were described as intrusion detection but looked like somehow cameras were turned into simple motion detection event (without that really happening),
because clouds and shadows activated the events.

The message I get under System > VCA Configuration > Engine Configuration and Usage, is "DSP is abnormal".
Sometimes I also get a "Configuring initiator failed" message.

After a month I had to reboot daily, but later on, not even that fixed the problem.

Now only fully shut down of NVR solves the problem, but only for half day.

There is no firmware update for 1st generation Acusence NVR's (DS-7716NXI-I4-4S) at EU portal since January 20, 2020, not even for the RCE vulnerability !!!!!!!!
The only thing changed in the system, but that, almost 1,5 month before the problem starts was an update to all cameras (only) the last firmware released for the RCE vulnerability.
Any ideas, anyone?
