@David L According to the link for Ezviz DB1 I thought I was downloading 200220 but It appears to be firmware 191211. Can you check the link you have up?
EZVIZ (DB1)191211 (2020-01-05), 190708 (2019-07-21)200220 (2020-04-02)

@alexdelprete I am trying to work on my synology detection issue and tried to flash back to exviz firmware but I have noticed no change with firmware 191211 from ezviz. Ill try 200220 once the link issue is fixed.

I am sorry, I left the link thinking they would of updated it by now, we found the 200220 on the EU website.

EZVIZ (DB1) {STILL OLD 191211 build as of 04-02-20, to get new 200220 build D/L from EU Site below}:
(Apr. 02, 2020) Build 200220 (NO ONVIF Support) - Jack007
OR
EZVIZ (DB1):
(Apr. 02, 2020) Build 200220 (NO ONVIF Support) - JSnP

Thanks David my ezviz app has not suggested the update which is odd.

I configured it manually and I can also set Motion Detection for recording only those events.

The url for the path is: <admin>:<pw>@<ipaddr>:554/Streaming/Channels/101

After the manual configuration, you edit camera settings and go to Event Detection settings (second screenshot), where you can fine-tune your detection area.

I went ahead and flashed the EZVIZ firmware 200220 and Im in the same boat as before, can not look at the camera stream in synology and can not set detection area. What does your camera report as the resolution? Mine says 800x600 I think thats the issue.

Mine reports 2048x1536. If your reports 800x600 might be you are pointing to the Sub Stream. Are you sure you are using <admin>:<pw>@<ipaddr>:554/Streaming/Channels/101 and not 102 final? Because that would be the sub stream, at lower resolution. In Batch Config, what resolution did you set for Main Stream and Sub Stream under the video image settings?

BTW: I changed my EZVIZ DB1 fw to Hikvision's latest. Rebooted but it didn't work. Red light turns on for 1 sec, then all lights go off. Reset doesn't work. Now I'm trying power off for 1 hour to drain internal battery, hope I didn't brick it.

I thought switching between EZVIZ fw and Hikivision's wouldn't be too risky...and wanted to play a little bit with ONVIF...I forgot the old saying: "if it works, don't touch it". :)

Oh man Ive been flashing all day without an issue. Yikes.. I am still stuck with no detection but my resolution is now correct at 2048x1536 at 22fps. Thats odd. how do I reset all the settings with batch config?

I can't show you the screenshot because my DB1 doesn't work now. :)

IIRC: It's in the same menu from which you do the upgrade, one of the buttons should be Reset Factory Settings, something like that. Look in that one.

@David L I think installing the EU version of the 200220 firmware may have introduced some odd behavior in my camera. I can not see the RTSP stream at all now.

I tried admin:password@IP:554/Streaming/Channels/101

&

rtsp:/admin:password@IP:554/H.264

Is there a way to disable or enable to RTSP stream?

Nevermind its just not working in synology.. pulls right up on VLC..

Fixed it. I waited 1 hour with the circuit breaker of the cam off, but it still didn't work. So I phisically removed it from the wall, unplugged the power cables, etc. brought it in the house, connected it with my test 12V AC transformer and it finally powered on correctly. :)

I have no idea why simply turning off the circuit breaker for 1 hour is not enough. In any case, I reset it to factory settings with latest Hikvision's fw, and reconfigured it as an ONVIF device with Synology: more options are available with the Surveillance Station software and the ONVIF interface. So now I'm back on track but with some more tweaks. :)

I will test the Hikvision-Connect app a little bit more, but it looks very much similar to Ezviz, with the added bonus that I can configure the chime in this, with the latest Ezviz app the option was not there anymore.

@David L : remember when I replaced the cam in warranty and the new one could only be accessed with the broken cam's 6-digit enabler code? We thought it could be due to the fact that I restored the configuration on the replacement cam. But that's not the case: after the upgrade from ezviz fw to hikvision fw, I factory reset the cam, reconfigured it from scratch, and it still works only with the original cam's enabler code. I think the code is tied to the serial number of the cam in their cloud, and it is associated with the user account.
