I tried the FTP link but I am not getting through...fyiCheck directory 11 on Hikvision's FTP server: New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera
It is 62MB, not sure this Forum's file size limit. They allow attachments so big in this forum? Wow...
It's an EZVIZ model. I found some pictures, and they're identical. Plus, I found this video installation tutorial for your model, and if you watch the video, it always references DB1.
Thank you for your share...Hi All,
Loving this monster thread – a great read!
I thought I would share my experience of this EZVIZ DB1 doorbell (UK). I replaced my Ring doorbell with this mainly because I have a poor internet connection so need to record locally. I also have a Hikvision NVR so wanted to record to this 24/7 through the DB. My highlights are:
As much as I really like geeking out with this doorbell there are some bits that are not so great IMO:
- I wired mine from a mains socket using a 18v 500ma doorbell supply from ebay (no existing wires in my new build house but plug socket right by the door).
- Clearly I have no chime so need to rely on the iphone app alerting me when the button is pressed (or I can hear the outside button press chime most of the time).
- My plan is to purchase the EZVIZ smart chime when available – great vid on it HERE
- I was able to add the DB to my Hikvision NVR simply by adding the IP address and the NVR did the rest (I didn’t give it a RTSP URL). Its now recording 24/7 on my NVR. The DB also records just motion to the memory card I installed which plays back great in the EZVIZ app.
- I don’t have a reason to change the default firmware for ONVIF support as I don’t need any more than 24/7 recording. Not sure what else ONVIF would give me that I would find useful.. I can view the DB stream great in the Hik-Connect app also under my NVR.
- The DB has been very stable with no issues despite running very hot (no crashes)! I tried on both 2.4ghz & 5ghz no probs on either.
- I found the EZIVIZ studio easier to use than the batch tool (just need to activate the advance settings). Still playing with WDR settings but great you can tweak. Also changed the IP address to a static one.
Can’t wait for the EZVIZ smart doorbell to be available and then I will be a happy camper (despite my grumbles lol). Also tempted to flash the Hikvision firmware but not sure this would add any value to my setup. But would mean I could use the Hik-Connect app to answer the DB as well as my general NVR access - I could then delete EZVIZ app (would also be good fun lol).
- The way you are alerted to a DB press in the EZVIZ iOS app by a call and having to faff about muting the audio quickly. Of course you want to see who is at the door before deciding if you want to talk to them. Best way for me is to decline the call and quickly open the app and go to live view (poor design though). I will test on my android phone also I suspect its better.
- If you turn off the ’answer doorbell call’ option in the app settings it does not even notify you of a DB button press at all…!
- The app’s video events history feature shows ‘PIR Alarms’ events with option to playback the video, but it does not show button presses in this view. You can find a call log hidden within live view but this only shows thumbnails (no option to watch the video back).
- It supports EZVIZ Alexa skill but can’t believe anyone finds this useful.. Testing with my Echo show – “show me the doorbell” has a 10 sec delay before it comes up and then the stream is a good few seconds behind real-time even when it loads. Real shame the EZVIZ skill does not have a doorbell press function built in.
- I had a play with IFTTT and there is no way to link into the DB button press (as mentioned in this thread). For a chuckle I linked the PIR motion event to my Echo device to notify me on any PIR movement. A good 10 sec delay from PIR movement to my Echo talking to me to tell me of the movement (nothing more than a novelty IMO).
Great thread so thanks for all the awesome information!
@tbhI figured it was time to replace the old foscam above the front door with an EZVIZ so I went to Amazon, and EZVIZ store there, and ordered one. Said one day delivery. That was 3 days ago. Called Amazon and the doorbell is removed from there store and I was told I wont be getting the order now. Is this the end of that doorbells selling life now? I hope not. There was a link to some 3rd party sellers off the no longer available EZVIZ listing but I really don't want to pay 130 bucks for one when it was down to 79 from EZVIZ.
Oh let me give you a bonus given to me by alexdelpreteHi All,

Ok guys, this might be interesting for some of you.
I was figuring out a way to get a notification in Home Assistant or whatever when the button is pushed.
In the end I used another small device to acomplish this:
Doorbell Modernizr
It worked perfectly with my oldschool doorbell, but with the Ezviz I got continously false triggers.
Soldered a 3K3 resistance between 3.3v and input and now it works! (Old resistor was 10K).
Just my 2 cents, I still hope someday the API of this doorbell can be found and used locally, right now the wiring is a mess!
I also have a ESP8266 powered relay in between, because we work nights so it is very convenient to switch off the gong when we're sleeping.
The doorbell itself still works, I just reroute the wiring to bypass the bell with my relay.
banging his head on the desk
a replacement DB1 is being shipped to me but I just remembered something! ---NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!----
I forgot to take the memory card out of mine before shipping it back last week.
Can you or someone that understand explain where I need to change out the resistor on the Modernizr? See picture.
I don't have your answer but a suggestion, one of the users here turned me onto running two feeds, one is 24/7 and the other is a motion feed (BI Motion), since I don't use the DB's PIR in BI, I can't help you. If you don't plan on recording 24/7 disregard this...Question for the people that have an Ezviz db1 running in blue iris. I set mine up, and it shows the live feed fine in blue iris fine, however anytime that the door bell gets a motion alert (doorbells motion alert, not blue iris motion alert) Blue iris then loops the 2-3 second clip itself in blue iris, and drops the live feed. I'm I missing something setting it up correctly?
