NVR5xxx Firmware Released on 201712

@Crazykiller if you install this firmware, please post what improvements/changes you see.
Also what NVR you installed it into.
I have the NVR5216-4KS2 and I am interested.

Hi Folks, I just tried this latest firmware on my NVR5216-16P-4KS2 and now it won't boot - I get the dahua logo screen, then a black screen. Prior to this I had system version 3.210.0003.0 2017-04-18. Am I missing something? Cheers, Pete.

OK, so I've recovered my machine via RS232 interface and a TFTP server with the last working firmware, so it's working again now but back on 3.210.0003.0 2017-04-18. The machine was in a boot-loop because the firmware upgrade to this latest firmware didn't work properly.

Do I need to upgrade the firmware in steps? If so, what are all the firmware versions between mine and this latest one, and where can I download them?

Normally you don't have to do it in steps. The one between yours and the new one is the DH_NVR5XXX-4K_Eng_V3.215.0000000.1.R.20170901

Well, I found several versions after my working version but none work with my unit. It accepts the image on a USB and goes through the motions but when it re-boots I just get a black screen after the logo, then it's into boot-loop. I've even tried updating via the console using the update.img from the newer firmwares, with the same result.

I'm a bit gutted because the machine keeps randomly forgetting camera passwords and resetting stuff to defaults, so it is in need of a less-buggy firmware!

Glad that I saw this before updating.
Thank you very much for posting.

I updated mine today. Did not see any big changes in the webui.
Only thing I recognized, it seems they „hardwired“ the PoE ports and channel numbers. After reboot not all of my cams which are connected to the PoE ports came up again. I changed the links on the patchpanel and now they fit the PoE ports and everything seems working like before. Can’t tell anything about bugs for now. This will need further testing.

I removed my cams and defaulted all settings on my NVR5216-16P-4KS2 and upgraded successfully from DH_NVR5XXX-4K_Eng_V3.215.0000000.1.R.20170901 to latest DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_Eng_V3.215.0000000.3.R.20171211 firmware.
Just thinking, Is it enough to default all settings? what does it mean for network? the management IP is intact, does it only affect the switch settings? Is it recommended to do a factory reset?
Not that I plan to use it but Easy4ip seems broken since I upgraded first time from original FW, Getting an error when clicking save regardless of the setting.

NVR5208-4KS2 updated a couple days ago with FW above. Rebooted fine after upgrade without issue. Took a min. for 1 PTZ to get recognized and display, but no problem.
Have not noticed much difference from V3.215.0000000.1.R.20170901 except some extra beeping when rebooting.

I have had 1 random reboot with NVR each day with flag [0x6f] at random times.
I did catch the NVR rebooting when a intelligence "auto track" was triggered without IVS rules. Not sure if this was the cause but I could not replicate it.

Not sure why people do a reset prior to a firmware upgrade, I never have on any of my equipment. I have asked Andy and other resellers if it is necessary
and they have never heard of doing it.

Hey Guys I just updated My NVR5208-8P-4KS2 with this firmware and it fired up no problem but 2 of my Dahua POE Bullet cams will not reconnect no matter what I try. I think they are model # HFW44A1SN's. If anybody has any idea what I can try please help.
Thanks!

My first thought was that the anticipated detection of chinese market cameras was added to the firmware, but I see that these are not chinese market cameras. I'd still keep that on the list of possibilities, with them having snagged your camera model with a bug in the detection algorithm. Do you have any of the same model cameras that do work? I added a new camera to my 5216-4ks2 yesterday and was reminded that I sometimes have go through a few add, delete, connect cycles before I'm successful.

I have another Dahua PTZ camera Model # PDN22T204GN and it added itself no problem along with a couple of Armcrest wireless cameras. I'm not sure the 2 Dahua bullet cams are the model number I gave but I purchased them in 2016 and they were 4 megapixel cameras but I don't remember the model numbers. I just looked on the Dahua site for closest thing to them. Bought them on Amazon and they were english bios I remember because people was warning me not to upgrade the bios because it might end up chinese. Okay I just went out and took a picture of one of the labels on the camera that I am having the problems with. Hope this helps. The NVR just keeps trying to add them but then they disappear until it tries to add them again. Weird.

Actual Dahua Model# DH-IPC-HFW4421SP

If the firmware not work, so 2 solutions, 1. Update the NVR firmware back to the last version, 2. Update the firmware of your cams, but these cams seems a bit old now. So change the NVR firmware back is fine.

I wouldn't mind going back to original firmware on the NVR but I didn't do a backup of the original firmware, so I have no way of doing this. Thanks anyway Andy.

I finally caught one of the 2 HFW4421s's up and working and upgraded the firmware on it and now it stays on solid like it is suppose to. But I still cant get the other HFW4421S to bring up a picture so I can upgrade its firmware. Any idea's Out there as to how I can get it upgraded to newer firmware? I'm figuring it had older firmware then the one that finally came up and got upgraded, so not sure this camera will ever come online.
Also how do you move a camera like from D7 to D1 or Cam 1 position on view screen? I though i could drag and drop but no luck.

Please Help!

Okay, I forgot that I still had an NVR4208-8p-4KS2 so I just hooked it up and connected the HFW4421s camera to it and it came right up, so I uploaded the new firmware and disconnected the NVR4208 and connected camera back up to the NVR5208-8P-4KS2 and its working great. Thanks for everybody's help. Can't believe I didn't think of this sooner. Oh well.
One thing I do want to complain about on the newer Dahua NVR's is the Damn automatic registration of camera's in no choice of order. My 2 camera's plugged into ports 1 and 3 kept popping up on channel 7 and 8. Everytime you delete them to move them they just pop right back up in the same Damn place. They should give you the option turn off the automatic camera registration so you can manually install cameras were you want. There has to be a easier way to adjust the order you want your camera's.

You can order the cameras for the view. It’s possible with a right click from the OSD. I’m not at home right now, think it is something like „appearance“.
If you really want to change the channels the Cams appear to, you could use a workaround. It did this with my NVR. With newer firmware they normally appear on the channel which PoE port they are connected to. This doesn’t always work. So I manually added fake cams until all channels were used. Then you delete the fake cam from the channel on which you want to add your cam and the NVR has no other choice than this channel, because all others are used
