Those 37777's, are the management ports?

37777 is a comm/TCP port for cameras NOT connected to the internal switch.

When connected to the NVR switch, they use a simple Port 1,2 3, etc

Here shows a mix of both. The 192.168.1.X cameras are on an External switch. This is how they should look on a PoE NVR, Usually you see cameras using the internal switch with 37777 port is because they were manually moved or added from the top pane to bottom. If you just plug them in and leave them be, they'll migrate to the bottom pane with Port 1 etc

Hi bigredfish
I understand what your suggesting.
The image from the NVR is that he's using the virtual IP assignment of the NVR itself, hence the 37777 and 10.... assignments for the dahua standard communication protocol for the Dahua cameras.

Yes but it won’t work with using 37777 on the internal NVR PoE switch

Need to unplug them, plug back in one at a time, and allow them to register (move to bottom) by themselves. Do not manually add them
They should be using ports 1,2,3 etc

Just installed the 2022-11-15 firmware, figured it wouldn’t let me roll it back but worked fine. I lost IVS notifications. Reinstalled the 2023-12-5 firmware and IVS notifications started working again. Again I don’t know where I found it but shows I downloaded it on 1/23/24. Still doesn’t make sense because I’m sure the 5232-16P-4KS2E I purchased from EmpireTech on 6/29/2022 always had IVS notifications working fine with P2P disabled. Maybe the firmware it shipped with worked and I never updated until the 2023-12-5 but seems like it had the 2022-11-15 when I went to the 2023, can’t recall on that.
Hi, so your NVR 5216 now has IVS notifications working by using a 2023-12-5 firmware even without P2P enabled?

I have Dahua DHI-NVR5216-4KS2 V2.00 and IVS notifications always worked without P2p and im on old System Version:V3.216.0000006.0Build Date:2019-02-23. Since half a year ago IVS suddenly stopped sending notifications and I've tried everything. Maybe I need to upgrade to latest firmware?

Just checked it's: 4.002.0000000.6R build 2022-11-15. Think it's the latest and most likely the last. Think it was version .3 some time ago that caused the issue with no IVS notifications, unless P2P was active. Standard motion/SMD is not a problem with P2P disabled.
So your saying that version .3 caused the no IVS notifications unless p2p is active - so is now the latest version fixed that?

OK thanks for reply. Finding firmware prob wouldn't be a problem I'm just thinking if I need to do some consecutive updates to get it to that version or just jump straight to that version since I have old Version 3.216.

Hi guys. I have nvr5216-16p-k4s2e with v4.002.1cka000.0.r. I have struggled with ivs and alarm and email. Things like the wired alarm-in channel 1 for "disarming"? i'm getting inconsistent results and get flooded with emails. I think i just don't grasp the way motion detection/alarm/ivs/email work. You guys seem to have a better grasp of the dahua nvr than i do. I'd love to pick someone's brain for 30 minutes. Any gurus out there that want to help me on a time basis over the phone? Name your price...

Are you using any type of physical external alarm?

If not, ignore "alarm". End of confusion

MD- old fashioned detection. It works based on any change in any pixel on the grid you've chosen. That could be a shadow, a bug, or the sun going behind a cloud. Turn it off.
IVS- newer technology for detection- can restrict to just humans or vehicles or both. Will lower your email alert count by 95%+

Email
  • global setting on the NVR to turn allow it to work
  • individual settings on each IVS rule on the cameras to decide whether you want to get an actual email for any given rule

* Make ALL settings on the individual cameras GUI, NOT the NVR (image settings, IVS rules, email send/not, anything that CAN be set on the camera SHOULD be set on the camera)
**Only make high level recording schedule and network settings on the NVR GUI

Are the emails you are being flooded with a result of that external alarm? Or other MD/IVS rules not directly associated with it?

wired input 1 of the nvr (wired n/o or n/c) can be used to disarm and arm the nvr. so in theory when disarmed, the nvr won't send emails. when nvr armed, it will send emails. there is a alarm bell icon that shows next to the clock on the vga/hdmi output of the nvr. when red, the nvr is disarmed, when not red, the nvr is disarmed. i think i've figured out that part. my confusion stems from the nvr setup pages under alarm/disarming. things like "disarming on or off" and "disarm alarm linkage action" and "sync disarm config with channels" seem to be reverse intuitive. I keep fiddling with the options and it seems to be doing better. the AI part of the nvr setup is something i have not fooled with much, and trying to get it to send me an email with a picture when there is activity when i an gone (having left my house and set the alarm that in turn tells the nvr to arm by turning off an output on the alarm board that in then turns on (or off) and input to the nvr).... I'm rambling..... i really just want to talk to guru and ask a few questions about some of these checkboxes and about how AI and the nvr alarm and motion detection and work together. i seems redundant. and then things like the main screen "live mode - AI mode" shows a ribbon on right side of screen that reports me as vehicle not a human - yet there is nowhere i have any kind of vehicle detection.
