This is so damn cool-- but just what in the hell does that dog sense to know this is coming???

beautiful timing....
That's in Clayton County, Georgia at the intersection of GA 138 and GA 85. I worked for that county for 2 years 1973 to 1975. It's where I began my 31+ year career in traffic signals. Me, Charlie and Ron installed 12 traffic signals in 13 months in that county. I was a trainee and dug holes and set poles, strung span, hung and wired up traffic signals, poured cabinet foundations, set cabinets and cut, wound and sealed inductive vehicle detector (wire) loops in the roadway.
A lot has changed there in 50 years! I'm not sure but it may be where I responded to where a leak from an underground natural gas line crept up the conduit and into a traffic signal cabinet where it was ignited by the arcing contacts of an older generation electro-mechanical traffic signal controller. The gas didn't burn due to very little oxygen but it did place enough soot and ash on some electrical contacts to where the controller (with it's vacuum tubes and analog circuits) could not time properly and basically got stuck in some interval. I recall the tiny explosion cracked the glass that allowed you to view the moving camshaft and the electrical contacts as the controller cycled. I think it was an Eagle ET175, ET115 or the like.
Dude got what he deserved, too bad his female co-conspirator got away untouched.
