Pre-wiring Help

Given your situation with the relatively high $300 price per cable run and the fact you already have a cable conduit going into the attic (make sure that's sized for growth, 2-3" PVC preferably) I would just go with what you have. The one exception is that I would absolutely add a cable run for each doorbell."

You still need to "do a bit more reading before handing out the advice". That's you giving the advice ,Bub. Wired fucking doorbells. You said it, not me. Moron.

Dude, stop digging, you’re halfway to China on this one.

Thank you everyone. I understood few things clearly.

1) Add as many POE locations as possible. Especially locations that are not accessible through an attic conduit like garage, driveway, street view and extra rooms with no 2nd floor/attic.

2)Don't consider wireless cameras as a viable option.

3) Categorize locations of Cameras as Purpose driven cameras, or overview cameras.

I am working with the builder to add more Cat6 drops. I will continue to read more about cameras, NVRs before buying one.

Thank you for the help .

Also remember cat5e/6 drops to places you expect to have fixed internet connected devices .. for example I have 3 drops to my media / TV area.

2 to each working desk
