The 42% increase in grad student salaries could actually not be such a big deal, as we need to know how much the pay was before .. iirc Grad Students often paid extremely low rates as TAs and often they did more of the teaching in the University I attended than the Professors ..
The preferred pronouns stuff however I find troubling ..
