Interesting, thank you.

If I were to go this route, this 16 channel Lorex POE offering, with 12 2MP cameras, do you know if I'd be able to successfully add a "non-Lorex" camera, a POE Hikvision one, like the DS-2CD2032?
When I was looking to buy a system last year I skipped over Lorex because they weren't ONVIF compatible and their 16 channel was only POE on 8. Now I see they have added a 8 port POE switch to their systems. That's good.
You might want to research the Lorex website. They do state that some NVR's are only compatible with certain Lorex cameras. I also didn't see any where that the systems were ONVIF compliant.
I ended up buying a QSEE made by Dahua.

What is the "color night vision" feature that Lorex has...?
Also those standard 3.6 lenses 4mp that come with the Q-see (and I'm guessing also the Lorex systems) can't make out a plate past about 20ft in the daytime. Pretty useless at night for reading plates or faces.

Yes that looks pretty good at night for color.

I have the Q-see 8816 NVR. I like it because it's set up for up to 4k cams and up to 4 6T HD (24T)

It's awesome for night vision.

I sell those QC8816 NVR's. Great price on them, best you will find as well as for the QCN8030D 4MP Dome cameras and QCN8026B 4MP Bullet Cameras. Message me if you need a price or check out my website.

The new NR800 Series 16 Channel NVR actually has higher recording speeds at 4MP than the QC8816. The QC8816 only records at 20fps with 4MP cameras, whereas the NR8163 records at 30fps. The QC8816 is capable with 4K cameras, but the recording is only 7fps, so the NVR isn't up to par with the cameras yet. Additionally, the new NR8163 can be expanded to 16TB. They also have a 32 channel NVR NR8326.
The fact that it can record with an 4k camera is good for me. The 7fps frame rate is ok.

Can the NR8326 use 4k cams..?

Is there an NVR that has higher fps for 4k cameras...?

That's one of the reasons I got the 8816 because of 4k support.. :)

Also is your website messed up? The info is all there but it looks like the CSS is not kicking in...
