Hello,

We are a new security company and MSP looking for recommendations on what to deploy for our end users. We would like to use standard ONVIF compliant IP camera's from any brand, so it really boils down to what NVR and app we will use and standardize on.

We want the ability to:
- Easily, remotely manage and access multiple clients NVR's from a single portal if possible. No setting up port forwards in the router, etc.
- Offer the clients a smartphone application that can also easily access their onsite NVR's footage. The app should be well rated and work well on Android and IOS.

Today, we use Nest Camera's which we love. Also have used alarm.com carmeras as we are a dealer. We like these, but there is a monthly fee per 4 camears, monthy fee per SVR, and their camera hardware options are limited. We tried LTS Secuirty, and overall their NVR software and apps were horrible (but price was great).

Have any ideas?

Nest cameras are pure crap. most WIFI cameras only work for a while, and are not reliable.

Use DAHUA or HIKVISION POE cameras. Use the NVR for the cameras.

What do you recommend we deploy to manage and maintain these cameras? We need a high end NVR solution that is cloud managed.

Welcome Colton,

Do feel free to share your experiences, best practices, gotchas, good and poor image captures here for others here to gain inspiration and knowledge from.

Many of us here like the Dahua OEM cameras, as well as Hikvision OEM cameras - the most popular recording platform is Blue Iris with members here.

Please do take some time to read the various forum posts.

Use Nxwitness- sold in North America under Digital Watchdog. DW Spectrum IPVMS
Here is the cloud overview
Nx Witness | Cloud
70 dollars per camera but they provide lifetime upgrades for free
You can install this on a cheap 100 dollar 3rd generation i5 system. Even if you went new, you can run it on a 300 dollar machine.
Combine that with dahua starlight turrets or hikvision low light turrets (see threads on these models) and you have what you want.
Right now they support limited in camera analytics like line crossing etc from Hikvision, Axis, and Hanwha. Im sure dahua will follow. Otherwise it will support basic motion detection from the cams or can do its own (using more cpu)
