So at the moment I have 2 HikVision ip cameras, one DS-2CD2087G2-LU and one DS-2DEA404IWG-E/W. I can see the cameras on SADP, iVMS 4200 and can log into them via Chrome and view them when on the network at home. I cannot view them via iVMS 4200 when at home or anywhere else and want to be able to view the cameras when away from home and also share with family. On iVMS 4200 it shows the cameras to be offline. Any help would be appreciated.

I cannot view them via iVMS 4200 when at home or anywhere else and want to be able to view the cameras when away from home and also share with family.

I'm sure you meant "I cannot view them via iVMS 4200 when NOT at home or anywhere else"

3 ways to do this:

1. Set up a VPN service running on your home router then you can use iVms-4200 as if you were home (best/most secure way).

2. Create a Hik-Connect account, add the cameras to the account, and log into Hik-Connect in iVMS-4200 (ok, depending on how comfortable you are with P2P services).

3. Port forwarding in your home router (least secure, I wouldn't).

I tried deleting/adding my camera and checked this box:

and I got "Offline" like yours...

maybe you checked that box when you added the cameras? If so, delete the cameras and re-add them without TLS checked (encryption?).

this page on your camera:

is the server port set to 8000? can't imagine it wouldn't be...

also make sure NAT is off:

and check "Network Service" settings:

all of these settings are defaults you probably wouldn't have changed...

So I am one step closer to the danger zone. I removed the cams from iVMS and added back. It said action not completed, bad password. So I played around with one and got it online and will try the other when I get home from work today.

The one that is "online" I cannot view at all on iVMS, still so i will play around with that also.

Update #3 So both cameras are " online" but cannot be viewed in iVMS 4200. Is there a step that I am missing to let them show in the " Main View " or " Remote Playback".

I can still login via Chrome when on the same network but I really want to view them when I am away.

OK, it looks like you did not have "Import to group" checked when you added the cameras:

Delete both cameras and readd them with "Import to group" checked for each one...

THANK YOU! We are getting there! Now what do WE need to do for off-site viewing?

First, does the internet router used by the cameras have a VPN server built in? Or, what is the make and model of the router, and we can check...

If the router does not have a VPN server, and you don't want to upgrade/replace the router, the next best solution is to create a Hik-connect account... then you can register each camera with that Hik-connect account... you would then log into that Hik-connect account with iVMS-4200 on a PC, or the Hik-connect app available on smartphones and iPads etc. (Some here don't like P2P services, but others are ok with it... I use it.)
