thanks buddy,little busy these days, for the IR light on or off, this is a little hard to wake up a doorbell in very short time, i am not sure if other brands doorbell has sharper speed. ?

Agreed. Unless the device is overheating with IR light and recording on, there is no reason for this. That would solve slow ramp up and image adjustment issue. Fix rebooting issue with firmware and Dahua has winner.

You said you are powering via a doorbell transformer, but don't have a doorbell right? Perhaps an issue with that? Not likely, but... Do you have a DC source to test with?

It's not a doorbell transformer per say, it's a plug-in 24vac 40va supply. Actual measurement at the door bell terminals is 25vac.

I dug around and found a 12vdc wall wart. I'm now using the 12vdc supply and in the dark, and viewing live same results goes offline in 2-3 minutes. But with the garage lights on, and no IR, It's now been streaming non-stop for 57 minutes. That's a huge improvement. So, it does appear that the IR lights being on, and pulling a stream, cause's it to wig out. By the way, the temp in the garage is around 85F.

There is a status light above the door bell button that stays lit all the time, and goes out for a few seconds when it goes off line.
So, I sat in the garage last night, with the lights out, and sat still so the motion didn't detect and IR was off. I watched that status light for 30 minutes to see if it went offline, and it never blinked. I'm took one for the team here. :)

I'm going to move it outside by the front door today, and see how it goes.

@looney2ns Thanks for going the extra mile. Can you confirm that your wall wart can delivery sufficient amps to the DB11, especially when IR is on. Perhaps, DB11 is rebooting due to insufficient power?

Thanks, but how do we know you did not blink and possibly miss the light going out?

Next time use another camera to watch the device, so we can be sure.

I'm thinking that reboots might be caused by a memory leak.
 
Re the IR, I'd hazard a guess the reason the IR isn't on all the time is probably because it's a 2 cheap IR LED's and it's to prolong it's life. I have known IR LEDs to go out, albeit on a cheap camera. Maybe the LED'd don't have a particularly long life, or maybe as others have mentioned, the small casing means the cameras already close to it's thermal maximum.

With regards to the crashes, I'm with tangent and I'd say either a memory leak or a thermal issue as the video processing chip is most likely thermally protected.

Lots of cameras use those same LEDs and last years...more likely they used the same firmware code from the db10

What??? You doubt my 64 yr old eyes??? I have a steely stare, I practice it on my wife all the time. :)
The light stays off a couple of seconds, I don't blink that slow......yet. :rofl:
Point taken, it's not like I have spare cameras laying around or anything. ;)

Also, the Doorbell works with the Lite NVR I have here. But, the DB11 still has the reboot issue.

Hey buddy

Today we checked with dahua guy, they tested the camera and no booting, so they ask me your fw version for this DB, and after i checking the FW looney2ns has is 201712, the new one is 20180322, so hope the new FW can fix up this, i will get it on Monday i think, and send to looney for checking.
