We are off to a better start than with the Db-10 video door bell. Keep in mind, So far this is based off of the DB-11 residing about 3 ft from my wifi router.

As I don't have a traditional door bell, I'm testing this using a 24vac transformer.

The following works as it should:
  • Adding to the Lechange app.
  • Manual Video viewing: both SD and HD
  • Audio during manaul view-talk and listen.
  • Audio Quality from the door bell speaker is MUCH better than DB10....still very low volume.
  • No batterys!
  • Motion detection alerts, with actual recorded video.
  • SD card is recognized and can record to the card (same exact SD card the DB10 still doesn't recognize)
  • Pressing the door bell button, alert comes to phone.
  • Pressing the alert on the phone, brings up video from the Db11.
Here's where things go a little south. When answering a call on the phone, out of 10 test calls, 3 times I received the error that "Audio Failed". Video still streamed.

We'll see what happens when I move this out by the front door.

Well there is good news and not so good news.
  • When motion is detected in the dark, it takes 4-5 seconds for the IR to turn on, that's too long IMHO.
  • My wife and I agree the "door bell" button emblem does not stand out well enough, and most people won't see it to use.
  • Dahua Configtool finds it
  • You can adjust "some" of it's settings with CT
  • SmartPSS doesn't find it, but it can be manually added.
  • I can view live video in both and with my phone.
  • While messing with SmartPss, and changing settings in the door bell, the DB11 crashed.
  • Took two hours of futzing around deleting it from Lechange, Adding back, Resetting to defaults, etc. to get it to come alive again.
  • I have it added to BI, see screen caps below.
  • Audio works in BI
  • It does have RSTP.
  • Door Bell crashes and reboots while live viewing video every 2.5 to 3.25 minutes. No matter what method I've use to view. Takes about a minute to come back online.
  • This is all with the router within 3ft of it.

I captured this video via BI between crashes. Sorry for the IR glare, this is setting on my water softener, and the IR is bouncing off the lid. There is no glare when properly placed.

Can you clarify:
I see no mention of ONVIF compliance, RTSP availability, or BI compatibility, right?
Am I correct in stating that it's cloud-based and one needs to have (probably) minimum of 4.0 Meg Internet download and upload speeds, right?

I wonder if it would have been possible for Dahua to enclose a battery-backup option, should the wires ever frail

But on the other hand, good to see more competition, no need to depend on cloud-based services here

Myself, I really enjoy the bubble level. ;)

I will do some more digging and get back to you.

It can be used as cloud based, but if you put an SD card in it, then the videos and alerts can be saved to the card without a cloud account.
But, you do have to install the LeChange app, and link the DB11 with it, that leads to no port forwarding or such.

@Arjun if installed correctly, the door bell wires should out last you. If you want battery backup, then get the DB10.

I agree as well and offer the following suggestions to Dahua, should they care to check with this forum. It employs the noted "wet paint" phenomenon, wherein the reader of such a sign feels compelled to touch the wet paint. I have included an International (or illiterate?) version and an English version. To avoid offending any more folks and for the sake of brevity (not one of my stronger suites), I did not include the Italian or Polish versions.

NOTE TO DAHUA: This is a joke! :p

Hopefully Andy is drawing Dahua's attention to this thread.

My first thoughts at seeing this is unlike most doorbell cams, the daylight quality looks very good. Night time, once the IR is on and the camera adapts (BOTH of which take some time), it's decent quality if not groundbreaking. However, as pointed out the IR takes too long to come on and for me, the time taken for the camera to recognise it and adapt is too long also - I make it around 9-10 seconds in total using the video timings, which is more than enough time for something to happen. It would be good therefore to see both improved IR switching and adaptation times, the latter especially, as using your timing of 4 secs for IR, that leaves an even worse time of 6 seconds for full adaptation to the new lighting source.

Hopefully the rebooting issue is something that can be quickly fixed with a firmware update. Seems ok except for that issue.
You said you are powering via a doorbell transformer, but don't have a doorbell right? Perhaps an issue with that? Not likely, but... Do you have a DC source to test with?
Just a thought.
