@tng5737 up the bitrate to 8192 and make white balance outdoor instead of auto and run backlight as low as you can go (but better to not use at night if possible).

I upped the bitrate to 8192 and turned OFF Backlight The video quality looks about the same as before - no change

How about make a default to all settings? How is the daytime pics?

Day time looks alright except that they video looks slightly out of focus until about 5 seconds and then everything snaps into focus. I set the PSS Camera setitngs back to 50 and set Backlight to WDR also 50 which if I recall were the original settings. I don't see and 'Default' button in PSS.
I have a perp whos stops by almost nightly to set fireworks off on my front porch which is why I bought the camera and hope to capture a pic of him for the police. He only shows up late at night. I bought this from your Amazon store and also bought two T2431T-AS 2.8mm today to replace some ailing cams

hmm, night time no WDR, Just select AUTO.
Also down the contrast to 50, no 100. Gamma add to 50.

I set the controls to 50 but not sure what you meant by set WDR to Auto. Here is a snap of my new settings and a short vid of the results

I'm not sure but during the daytime the video is out of focus for about 5 seconds and then everything is sharp. Perhaps at night due to the noise it is unable to do so. Just a guess.

The pulsing is iframes which I don't know if you can adjust. Is the focus issue a result of a higher iframes and BI isn't switching fast enough? Change the pre-buffer to a larger time.

The Receive buffer is set at 12mb At one time I had set it to 20mb but saw no difference so I set it back to 12mb

Make it like 10 and see if the "focus" is sharp before the person is seen. I think the soft focus is substream since it is a fixed lens cam.

Changing to 10 made no difference. I looked at this with DMSS and see the same video quality issues and pulsations. I think I will return this to Andy's store on Amazon for a replacement. I will update this thread when I get a new camera installed - might take a few days though! Thanks for everyone's suggestions.

Have you done these steps ? Be sure sharpness is set to zero for night mode.

I also suggest you do a factory reset. The reset button is on the back of the door bell (see instructions) Messing with too many settings using SmartPSS can confuse the doorbell and corrupt the image. My nighttime image looked just like yours on default settings, you MUST set the sharpness to "0" for night. Daytime image is great.

Yes, make a hard reset and check again too, press it for 5-7 seconds, make sure DB is powered and then can be defaulted and add again.

I RESET the cam but now it connects to another hot spot that is not mine and I cannot access. It is grabbing 192.168.3.xxx while my domain is 192.168.1.xxx I can find no way to force it to mine. But the good news is that the Doorbell still rings, HA!

Are you sure it reset ? You must select the wifi and enter the password.
