Review-EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-X3 1/2.8" CMOS 3 × 2 MP bullet cam

Yes, the 1/1.8cmos is good, but price will bit much higher for a 2mp model, but this camera have a very strong IR compare to normal Bullet camera, so still be a good choice for some places need a wide view and also want some more details on the narrow view. Same concept on Muliti-lens PTZ camera.

Here's a question, do you have to use all 3 channels up front? Can you use only 2 channels? Like the near and farthest channels?

I don't see anyplace to turn a channel off if that what you mean, I suppose you could delete it from the Registration page on the NVR (each has its own channel) but that would just stop recording the camera would still be active. Can't imagine a benefit

Yeah it would only see 2 channels if that’s all you have. I would think, as I said, you would simply, in the camera registration , swap assign the 3rd channel (far lens) to the open Chanel vs ch2. By default ch1 and ch2 would connect if only two available channels.

^^^^^ This. Say I want to use the 3.6mm and the 25mm lenses until I have added the second NVR

What I said

Connect it to the NVR. It will use and assign two channels (if thats all you have) with different IPs. They will connect in order. If you want to change then, change the IP to the next available channel number (10.1.1.x)

You'll just have to play with it. Dont go changing too much its just a matter of NVR channels

Mine is on an external switch. It grabbed the first 3 open channels it found on the NVR. 3, 13, 14
They all show the same IP address 192.168.1.154
