Review: IPC-LPR237B-IR / Equivalent of Dahua ITC237-PW6M-IRLZF1050-B - ANPR, Traffic & Access Control Camera

I am having trouble with my LPR237B keeping focus especially at night. Does the manual focus actually "stick"? Mine seems to change. I also show two different focus values under "guide" and "configuration". I just purchased it a couple weeks ago from Andy on Amazon.

I think @Billyjack5 mentioned something about focus values having different values on different pages. But i think it is same focus just different scales. From experimenting with mine, it does NOT shift focus between night and day.
And I found the easies thing is to set focus at night, and let the day be close enough. Not a perfect solution but night is more picky on correct focus.

I had a few different FWs from Andy before I got it working for me. I'm in EU and in my FW I have EU and RUS to choose between.

One odd thing though is that Swedish plates are recognised as Dutch (NL) plates.

I'm on 2.625.0000000.1.R, Build Date: 2021-07-09

On the other topic, how do you guys hide your cams? Do you hide them at all?
Right now i have it on the soffit and it is a bit "in your face". Was thinking about putting it closer to the road and more covert.
something like this. 1645315862443.pngor 1645315919820.png
but it only puts cam 30-40 inches from the ground. from my understanding it is better off being 70-100 inches off the ground?

Distance from 'decoration' to capture point about 45-50 ft

I have tried setting the focus at night, but then during the day it is blurry. It has firmware 2.625.10BE000.0.R, build : 2021-07-19. Does anyone know if this is the most current firmware?

There is 210922 but 2 people reported that it failed to install. So latest working one is 2021-07-19 . unless....
@EMPIRETECANDY Andy is there an update after 210922 ?

Perfect new version, no plug in now. And has lots of new features.

Improve the capture adaptability in complex scenes such as multi-lane and congestion. -Refactoring debugging rules, one step. - Support no plug-in, adapt to high version of Google Chrome (high PC performance requirements) - Allow list function optimization - P2P function access - page adjustment, function item integration adjustment - support algorithm independent upgrade - new DDNS, SMTP, SNMP ), PPPoE, P2P, ITCPUSH changed to ITSAPI

That definitely sounds like a dialing in issue, in other words something that can be fixed in config. As you may have seen from my review, this camera is razor sharp so you shouldn't have any issue. DM me if you need some assistance

Loaded and will be testing over the next few days

Quick update here. Started testing this new one tonight. Good news is that this update works on a cam that DID take 9/22 FW BUT also worked on another cam I got my hands on that would NOT take 9/22. However as I started testing I do see 1 change already that I'm not happy about, bitrate has now been capped to 7963 which is NOT good and I never advocate for. Just letting everyone know as I continue to put this new FW through its paces

Thanks, Wildcat_1. Would be interested in knowing if the vehicle description info is any more accurate in this version. I get a whole lot of Daihatsu and Tatamotors on the 2021-7-19 firmware I'm running.

Any explanation on these guys? Old firmware had min max plate pixels instead. And you can select what direction to scan on different page (front, back, both) so what is the difference between 1 and 2 then :idk:?
