I might have this cam. Hard tell because it's a EmpireTech brand from Andy bought from Amazon.
The model number would be the same.

So any more news on this cam that was posted back in March 2024? Anyone buy it? Is it the same as the SD4A425DB-HNY but only a 2MP? Or are there other differences? @EMPIRETECANDY any info?
yes, same cmos and function is same, just with 2mp. 2MP is not famous, the 4mp is the entry resolution on the market now.

I love these cams, I have bunch of Hikvision/Dahua cams with better sensors, but this ptz is my favorite. I really wish they would update the sensor though. Similar Hikvision (Hikvision 4MP DS-2DE4A425IW-DE) I've had for over 3 years now. Tracking is worse then Dahua.

Also I noticed there was new firmware update with build 6/19/24, I installed and the UI changed quite a bit.

My cam doesn't seem to identify itself. how can I be sure it is in fact an unbranded SD4A425DB-HNY. I bought it from Andy via Amazon. According to my receipt it's a PTZ425DB-AT. Just want to make sure before I upgrade thefirmware.

It is a good idea to only use the firmware that @EMPIRETECANDY Andy posts if you bought a cam from him.

Where does he post his firmware?

You can download all the cameras firmware from Andy's website. And you can buy all the cameras there as well.

Thank you sir. I updated the firmware and now I have no image display in the camera's web page. But the image is normal in both Blue Iris and Ui3. :(

Nope. Tried Palemoon and Google Chrome. Get the same thing. Looks like a white offset image where the camera image should be.

Did you update the firmware with best practices?

3 factory resets
apply firmware
3 factory resets

I know it sounds OCD and weird, but people that can get "under the hood" of the firmware can see in the coding that in many instances the firmware doesn't completely install correctly without several factory resets.

Through community experience, we have settled on the 3 attempts.

Doesn't mean that people haven't had issues without doing any resets, but if there is an issue, then one should follow this method as the first act of troubleshooting.

And any camera viewing issue will be best resolved using Internet Explorer. Not Chrome or Edge with the IE tab, especially the PTZs for some reason. They seem to be more browser touchy.

I'm accessing the cam by remoting into my BI server. I can't access it directly because it's on a different subnet and even tho it's a royal PITA to hook a monitor up to the BI server it's even worse trying to figure out how to do it with Linux. I'll hook a monitor up to it and report back. I don't think remote access has anything to do with it but I'll never know with connecting a monitor.

EDIT - Forgot to mention the video isn't working using Onvif Device Manager either. I get this.

I am able to remote into my BI server and access the cameras and they are on a different subnet (dual NIC concept).

Yeah that error looks like the firmware update is corrupt and/or you jumped too many versions and are missing the ONVIF update.

Did you install Andy's firmware or Dahua official? I had original version from Andy's (probably a year on this firmware), but installed Dahua this time. Don't recall version I had before, but it hasn't been an issue.
