Hi all,
I've got a new IPC-D140 which is to replace a wall mounted analogue camera. Unfortunately it's tricky to mount this one on an overhanging surface, so prefer to mount flat on the wall & rotate the lens.

Can't seem to work out how to physically rotate the lens in dome by 90 degrees & the software rotate is less than ideal as it give you a narrow portrait field of view rather than the landscape one, which won't work for the driveway coverage.

Photos attached of old camera in mounting position & new HIKVision cam with dome off.

Help welcome :)

@Gadget_Man the standard line of hiks have 3 axis... these are the super low end models.
avoid domes look for a turret form factor.
Thanks Fenderman & alastairstevenson :)

For comparable turret camera, I guess it's the IPC-T120, I should have got?
This seems 2MP instead of 4MP though - http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/2369823.pdf

DS-2CD2343G0-I
(spec sheet) might be an option too?

It's really hard to understand Hikvision site & the ranges shown :wtf::
  • HiLook
  • EasyIP 4.0
  • EasyIP 3.0
  • EasyIP 2.0plus
  • Smart IP 3.0
  • Smart IP 2.0
For a quality residential install - which should I be looking at (ie. standard range not 'super low end')?

Thanks all :iloveipct:

There are a lot of better options, see the hikvision low light camera thread. They will be much better.

I'm struggling to find this thread in search - do you have specific model numbers in mind?
Do a forum search for DS-2CD2335FWD-I
Despite some early experiences on focus issues - this is an all-round excellent ultra-low-light camera at the price point.
I have one that's left 24/7 in day/colour mode.
And a UK source in this thread, unusually even beating the Aliexpress resellers at the time of the post : Recommendations?

no idea what difference is? Is it firmware related?
It's all in the sensor capabilities and performance.
