Mmmmmm yes for security cameras cat5 will work . However if your going to go though the pain to pull wire I would just use some good cat 6. Pulling wire is one thing you only wanna do one time !Ok here is some of the CAT 5 wire that is at home, not sure if it is good. I tried to take a photo of the colors inside the wire but it was blurred
and here are the clips which are lying around
Post #8Hi good morning how is everyone @nayr @Ryan00
so @hmjgriffon what do I do? How do I correct this setup? What new router do I get to reduce the load on the ISP router?
tks
xx
First you need to verify the actual load on the router you have, not sure if your level of computer use, there should be a web page you can log into from a web browser to tell you. I'm not near the computer but if you have the cameras go to the Poe switch, NVR box also going to Poe switch with one cable from switch to router then one from router to ISP all should be fine, if you are not experiencing any issues surfing the internet or with the cameras leave the router you have now alone. Just plug in new cameras and configure it needed on the NVR.Hi good morning how is everyone @nayr @Ryan00

wifi has ZERO connection to viewing remotely...I presume the cameras are connected to the wi fi in order to view the cameras remotely?
do I need to get a separate wi fi account for the cameras?
You should be able to view them from any computer in the network, wireless or plugged into the Poe switch, the NVR should have a login account setup, what brand cameras were these?I presume the cameras are connected to the wi fi in order to view the cameras remotely?
