SD22204T-GN Firmware Update Issue

Hello:

I have three Dahua SD22204T-GN cameras. I am attempting to update the firmware in each to DH_SD-Mao-Themis_EngSpn_N_Stream3_IVS_V2.600.0000.0.R.20170601. (NOTE: I also tried the PAL version with the same results).

Two of the cameras updated without issue, but one fails with a "File unmatch, Upgrade failed!" message.

One thing I've noticed when viewing the camera properties from SmartPSS, the two that successfully updated list their Device Model as DH-SD22204T-GN; the unit that fails shows Device Model as "IP PTZ Dome." I believe the update is failing because "IP PTZ Dome" is not listed as a valid model in the firmware file.

I've verified that all cameras are indeed DH-SD22204T-GN via the UPS sticker. The one reporting the odd model number was purchased last year. The two successful units were purchased this month.

Is there any tool capable of forcing a firmware update or a way to modify the .bin firmware file to disregard or include additional model numbers?

Any assistance that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Brent

I'm managed to enable Telnet...killed the upgraded process and restarted it. This confirmed my suspicions:

UPGRADED_ERR: LINE: 716: can't match hwid info
UPGRADED_ERR: LINE: 875: verify_hwid failed
UPGRADED_ERR: LINE: 213: Upgraded failed.

Thoughts? Is there a way to modify my HWID via telnet, or is that hard coded into a chip?

EDIT:
~ # armbenv -r

Not certain if it matters, but the two successful cameras appear to be DH-SD22204TN-GNs and the failing unit seems to be a SD22204T-GN.

I understand that the "N" after the "T" refers to NTSC, but there also seems to be difference in the models with the "DH" and without as they are called out individually as separate part numbers is various Dahua documentation (ex. https://edigitaldeals.net/images/SD22204T-GN-OEM.pdf)

The reason is simply a different hardware revision. Dahua has changed the flash room size for cam's build after 01.17. the older ones have only 16mb the new one 128mb.
They had also a different feature set. The newer one is capable of smart codec and easy4ip / P2P.
And both have a different factory firmware.

ftp://ftp.asm.cz/Dahua/kamerove_systemy/_Firmware/05SD/PTZ%20firmware%20%20release%20record%2005.07.2017.xlsx
Yeah...I heard back from Dahua support and he basically confirmed what you're saying. He sent me the latest firmware for the older unit so all three are up-to-date.

Thanks.

What firmware version did you get? I also have the older one, don't think yours is newer.

I too have one of the older SD22204T-GN cameras. The firmware version is 2.400.0000.4.R.T1.484, build : 2015-06-07. I never did try to upgrade the firmware because I had no specific reason to do so.

Would also be curious as the the "most recent" firmware version for the older cameras.

The firmware they provided me with was the same, 2.400.0000.4.R.T1.484, build : 2015-06-07, but it afforded me the opportunity to go from PAL to NTSC.

Also, my camera appeared to have a 'modified' or 'unofficial' version of 2.400.0000.4.R.T1.484 when I bought it because the interface was not branded with Dahua, in place of the Dahua logo on the login screen and upper left corner of the web interface it simply said "IP PTZ DOME." Likewise the web interface and SmartPSS reported the model number as "IP PTZ DOME;" now everything appears with the appropriate branding and model number. No other changes...I sometimes get anal about things like that.

The firmware in mine is unbranded, no Dahua logo and it does provide the option to switch from PAL to NTSC. In the SmartPSS program the camera shows up as IP PTZ DOME.

Thank you.

I have the same original firmware on my SD22204T-GN.
2.400.0000.4.R.T1.484, build : 2015-06-07 The web interface is the IP PTZ DOME one. The model number is the serial number. It works fine, and I won't be updating firmware anymore since losing a camera to a botched firmware upgrade.

Good day to all.
I got a camera DH-SD22204T-GN
date of manufacture 2018
serial number (if it matters) 4H0763APAJ2xxxx

From the factory firmware:
System Version
2.622.0000000.7.R.R4.49b, Build Date: 2018-04-04
WEB Version
3.2.1.563437
ONVIF Version
16.12 (V2.4.1.513183)

on the manufacturer's website for this model is more recent (V2.640.0000000.2.R.180928)
https://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/productDetail/3761

failed to flash it - "File unmatch, Upgrade failed!"
configtool didn't help
it's good that the camera does not turn into a brick

firmware on the site for older hardware?
Is the most current firmware in my camera?

I will answer myself
This firmware is suitable for the more recent DH-SD22204T-GN (approached the cameras of 2019 of release)

approached an older (2018) one from this topic

I too have an old hardware version of a branded SD22204T-GN that I updated using firmware dated 2016-05-17 (see below) but doesn't quite work properly. The camera itself is happy when changing the password but Blue Iris will only find the camera model etc when its password is "admin" and on this camera, DahuaSunriseSunset updates the profile in reverse (profile reverts to "normal" but still changes in reverse). The presets are also dodgy. Using the factory reset button inside the camera does not correct the problem.

So, I would love to try an alternative firmware revision, older or newer, that's compatible with my first generation hardware. Please post a version of the FW if you can oblige.

Many thanksSD22204T-GN FW 2016-5-17.png

Dave, sorry, I didn't have any luck finding firmware but mine was acting up similar to yours. I used the Dahua config tool to reset the camera and that seems to have fixed it. It might be worth a shot.
Software Version 2.400.0000.4.R.T1.484, build : 2015-06-07
WEB Version 3.2.1.275072
ONVIF Version 2.4.1

Is there any chance in heck you still have that file? I can't find it anywhere on the web.

I'm looking for 2.400.0000.4.R.T1.484, build : 2015-06-07, I don't think the cam I have will support the 2.8 builds.
