I agree, but that support is better off directed at BI not at sentry. Right now Sentry is reporting back to BI but the options your asking for should be in BI under alerts. I too would like to set different alerts depending if Sentry detects a human or if BI Detects motion. Now if your hoping that Sentry will label as Car, Dog, Human...... Then ask away here, but if not an email to BI support with your requests is probley most helpful.

I would like to see the following
1. Sentry to work independently from BI own so all the processing is done externally
2. Being to detect objects to a high degree using learning on when a object is in a different place or orientation (for example for people who use BI for animal surveillance to be able to use AI to see if a turtle is upside down)
3. Have a full overview on a portal / BI what images was processed, how they were etc. That way we could give better feedback of false positives
4. Beta program for those who dont care too much about sharing cameras and time for the benefit of experimental features
I did sign up for a year as I think its worth adding this to BI.

Number one is impossible as it would require the entire video feed we're at least one frames per second to be sent. There is a free trial someone doesn't want to pay after that, that's their issue. Monitoring for your turtle being upside down is never going to happen.

Yeah I kinda never expected it to be able to know if a turtle is upside down, but with some AI it could in theory know that an object has not been moving for x minutes.
The only reason why I responded here is a. 1. subcribed for a year so I think Im fair enough and 2. they ask here for feedback, so guess feedback is a good thing regardless

ok a turtle walk around, and I would love to get an alarm if an object in the terrarium did have movement, stopped, but still the form detected. As a turtle can cost 5000USD its an example that is quite valid, but could work for anything, even "left alone" objects in professional surveilance, or knowing if UPS put down a packageThe lack of motion detector that was implemented a few updates back should work well for monitoring a turtle, or elderly parent, etc.
So after the test run . I decided to go ahead pay for a year. After following the set up instructions and removing the zone and such as the set up instructs. I do generally this time of year get a lot of notifications due to trees and shadows. But it is a lot worse now than before with the zones and such set up. Am I missing something?

When you look at the BI logs are you seeing any messages pertaining to Sentry, such as 15 second timeout or that Sentry is cancelling the alert?
Sentry is processing my images so that part is working correctly. I see multiple messages from sentry in my logs . alert cancelled and how many images they processed each day. Are there still kinks between sentry and blue iris ( phone app specifically) that they are still ironing out? 500 and counting on movement notifications since 7am this morning.
Even though the checklist says you can remove advanced options like object detection and zones I think they should be kept in place for various situations. For example if you live on a busy street and your camera view shows cars driving by, or you have tree shadows and live where windy days are common. I kept my motion detection settings the same when I enabled sentry alerts, though my configuration is such that I capture all human activity on my property, as well as stray cats dogs etc that sentry filters for me exceptionally well. I don't see a need to send 1000 messages a day to sentry for analysis, when a lot of falses can be avoided at the local level in settings. I only have sentry do what only AI can do, and handle the rest locally. Just my thoughts on it.

I agree and that was the way i had it through the demo period. Once i decided to go ahead and pay for it, I followed the directions (even though it seemed counter intuitive to me) to set it up. I guess my main confusion is it seems like on the phone app that blue iris doesn't care what sentry has to say about the movement and pushes the notification regardless.

Sam from Sentry confirmed a while back that push notifications are included as well into Sentry Smart Alerts. Not sure why the alerts aren't being suppressed for you. I haven't had any come though since they adjusted the resources on AWS. You may want to reach out to Sentry support.
I seem to have been confused a bit. During the day I am unable to hear notifications at times (phone in pocket Bluetooth headset connected but not in my ear) so I tend to rely on the actual notification counter for the app instead of going through the push alerts I get. So the actual alerts pushing to my phone for what I can tell are working correctly now that I am looking at the actual notifications on my phone and not the app itself. Understood the concept just in my mind the apps badge count would match the actual push alert count and not BI total notifications for all cameras. Hopefully down the road, the app will have the choice to only throw notification counts for pushed sentry notifications and not other stuff
You can report to Blue Iris as well. However, we appreciate all feedback regarding a better Sentry user experience. I record everything in roadmap and present to BI for feedback and/or co-development.

2. The turtle upside down alert is very challenging. To be honest, there is not enough universal demand for that feature to make the effort.
3. Customer portal feature is moving up in priority. Seems like more customers are asking for it.

Revising answer. Mobile alerts are suppressed similar to SMS/email. The alert counter still includes all the alerts received by your camera.

Sam,
I am confused, when you say that Sentry isn’t integrated in push notifications yet, but I see that push alerts get cancelled by Sentry when looking at my logs. I know that all alerts show in the alert view of BI, but only only alerts approved by Sentry actually make it to be a push alert. I thought that you had mentioned this in an earlier post after following up with BI support.
