Any good places to order equipment from? (amazon seems loaded with certain brands)

AliExpress any good?

I checked out some of the Dahua setups there. (they seem to be recommended here)
I need a 4 camera PoE setup.
Open air carport, back door slider on deck , 2nd floor looking down to front door and 1 for other side of house. I would prefer to pick up the NVR with the cameras but I could do them as a different order if needed.
Are there any other places I should look for Dahua setups?

Start here and check out the Starlight thread - Dahua 2MP Starlight Lineup

I wouldnt bother with anything non-Starlight for starters.

For 4 cameras (you'll eventually realize you need more so get at least an 8ch NVR) you can do really well for between $1000-$1500

For a cam to get good facial shots of people approaching (or at) the front door, an 8ft high cam location is recommended. Otherwise, you get greeat shots of the top of the head, basebal cap, or hoody.

Empiretecandy is the best choice. He provides solid support, amazon or aliexpress vendors can be spotty. And they often sell non-international cameras with plastic cases. If they're reflashed to newer firmware, they revert to Chinese language or get bricked.

Domes are not recommended for outdoor use. They'll work but there are limitations so pick your poison.
