STARVIS vs Starlight ?

I am up to 13 cameras, using BI. Nothing can beat the Dahua Starlights! Mine are mostly 2MP, but (as pointed out by Fenderman) 3MP are out and 4MP are coming out soon...

3mp Starlights are out in turrent form? 4mp ones? Any ETA?

IIRC, there's a 4MP Starlight turret, but it uses CVI instead of IP. Hikvision has a 3MP Ultra-Low Light turret, which has the same stuff as the Dahua Starights... I think if you compare the resolution of the 2MP Starlight vs the 3MP Ultra-Low Light, the only "advantage" the 3MP has is that its image is 500 pixels taller (which isn't necessarily helpful). It's not really capturing a noticeable amount of extra pixels along the width.

Friday can ship out, this new model stock use up now, we will get 40pcs new stocks on Friday. They are on the way, Friday ship out Monday or Tuesday can be there. If buy different models, ship what we have stocks. Normally we ship out all the same day as we get the stocks. Just select normal way, we all ship via DHL, no worry for that wide time range.

I don't see any IPC-HDW5231R-ZE or other 2MP Starlight cameras on EMPIRETECANDY's Amazon store? I am loking to get another camera (or two) as is an immediate family member who is having vandalism problems.

Can anyone help - or suggest the equivalent to the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE that is available?

Also, suggestions for a decent standalone NVR for a 4-5 camera setup for the aforementioned family member. He is not tech savvy and I dont think B.I. is for him.

Thanks!!

Just send Andy an email, he will be able to get them.

x2 on @Terk's suggestion to email Andy. kingsecurity2014 at 163 dot com

Dahua's NVR5208/5216 seem popular. Def. stick with a Dahua NVR so that you can use all of the camera's capabilities. Camera features like IVS (advance motion detection) don't usually work when recording to a different manufacturers NVR. Ask Andy and see what his recommendation would be.

Awesome. I simply used the "Buy it Again" button on Amazon from my previous order. It says the item is no longer available.

What are your thoughts on a Dahua NVR?

Thanks

This is a basic NVR that works well. If you don't need anything fancy, the 8ch version of this would work. It does not include a harddrive.

Yes. If you want to power the cameras over the ethernet cables, look for the PoE version of the NVR. Also, if you think you may add a 5th (or more) camera later, you might want the 8-port version of this NVR. Link below is the PoE version:
Aliexpress.com : Buy NVR4108HS 8P 4KS2 8 Channel Compact 1U 8PoE 4K&H.265 Lite NVR without Logo NVR4108HS 8P 4KS2 free DHL shipping from Reliable nvr 265 suppliers on Empire Technology Co., Ltd

I didn't see that in Andy's Amazon shop, but I may have missed it. You can order from his AliExpress store (above link) or email him to see if he'll shoot you over a PayPal invoice.

So, any Dahua 3 or 4 MP Starlight cameras that have low light capabilities like the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE?

No. ( not at this time... there is a 8MP box format one.. about $800-1000 after the lens and box )

2mp can be very sharp, 4K one poor nightvision and also have to get a 4k LCD monitor for higher resolution cams, lol.
