sunset keeps shifting

OK that noise does mean it is resetting.

Are all of your cameras connected to the POE ports? Trying to figure out why some are 10.x and another is 192.x - might not be the issue, but does make me wonder if there is some gateway issue.

And what in the world are you seeing now.

paul ha , my auntie was in big white tower block sea front brighton
wittaj the 192 is prob my hikvision dvr

Here is my input. More basic than others.
I would remove the Hikvison DVR out of the equation first (most likely this hasn't been setup with Onvif set-up correctly, hence it not being valid).
Default as suggested the NVR and required IP cameras, indeed use your separate power supply for this, initialize required IP cameras and set-up passwords, enable DHCP on required IP cameras. Then plug into the NVR POE ports and the NVR will assign it's virtual network assignment.

Good luck.

Why initialize the cameras outside of the NVR - that introduces error and typo's.

The NVR works best when it does all of the initializing and setting up the camera to work in the NVR.

heres devils advocate paul
just as u had said that, i plugged my off shelf dahua labelled cam into my old tvt nvt , within seconds it came on with pic
orig cam & nvr was from a shop up north here no probs apart from me not reading supplied info hccum
system worked fine for 3 wks until today

maybe interaction off label mixed with labelled ?????

Yeah didnt know about the HiK NVR. Please unplug it it should not be connected to your Dahua NVR

.... insists that i downgrade my security needs to be downgraded from security to compatible ( less safe )
brf - hik nvr is just seen its not involved or plugged in

Go to your NVR Under Security and change this to shown

secprotocol.jpg

If it doesnt fix the problem in Compatible Id chnage it to what I show. ALL of my NVRs use that. Ignore it if it barks

now just connected my old tvt cam to dahua labelled nvr , fine within seconds , asks for pw , i input it & full pic no probs
as earlier my dahua labelled cam worked in old tvt nvr
issue is new cam
brf i was ok for 3 weeks in security mode , new cam insists on compatible mode !

still await a method to POKE a password into the new cam

Something wrong with that cam then.

You could connect it to your LAN via an external poe switch and default it there. It will/should default to 192.168.1.108 if not connected to the nvr

Then access it via browser and on initiate it should ask you to give it a password

It’s sounding like the issue isn’t really password as some security issue with the cam talking to the NVR. Never seen that before

i tried to connect it to my lan earlier with additional 12v for purpose , but it hid itself , i could see 10 clients not it !
ironically its pic is in the nvr but cant do much without internal menu
