The official "WTF" thread

"Officials are warning of a new package scam that takes porch piracy to the next level.

Instead of stealing random parcels from people’s porches, thieves are now ordering the exact merchandise they want to steal.

Scammers use their victims’ stolen identities and personal financial information to purchase expensive items online and then ship the goods to their homes. However, they use a different email address and phone number for the delivery so that they can track the package delivery."

What happen to my brother awhile back, someone stole his mail which just happened to have his business checks. They white washed the checks and started using them, while he was ordering a replacement. Not sure how all this worked out but since they were going to the same bank that the checks were issued he was able to recover his money. But here is what they did too, they, actually the police found out it was a women wanted for check fraud and when they found her she was already locked up for another charge, anyway, what she was doing is ordering Credit Cards in my brother's name and having them sent to his house where she planned to go pick them up. So happened they were Fed-Exed and required a signature, haha, stupid thieves, my nephew happened to sign for them and called his dad at work asking what are all these Fed-Ex envelopes.

My brother got hit hard, his wife, their son, all were compromised for many years due to Identity thief. This women and I assume others, did not stop at the checks and credit cards, even with her in jail. They continued to steal from his mailbox and even got their Social Security numbers, which they sold on the dark web. My brother had to setup 3 accounts with LifeLock, think he said $40 a month each. They would get daily reports of these thieves doing something new. My brother told me in all they racked up about $100k, which my brother got all back/resolved but think about the losses the banks/credit card companies took. My brother removed his mailbox and got a P.O. Box

Now I know why the Credit Card companies charge 30% interest.

This just does not look like fun to me:

Our son-in-law talked us into buying one of these expensive pots with holes in it :)

We only used it a few times, we are not much for cold weather...

We have one, we bought one when they were still a kick starter.

Absolutely love the thing. Sitting around a hot fire without needing to take a shower before you go to bed because you smell like smoke is awesome. And having a fire on your patio is also a big plus. Ours sits right on our patio. The heat has yet to crack any of the pavers.

But, fire season for us usually starts after Memorial Day and ends before Labor Day. If I need a coat to walk outside, I ain’t going outside.

I have a gas fire pit with lava rocks in it, in our covered, screened in patio. During 'winter' (San Antonio) when it really does get cold, we pull up the big screen, the projector, fire and watch movies on the patio. Started this during COVID and it has always been a huge success.

Don't get me wrong, this thing works great. You just have to have enough wood burning for the smokeless to work properly. So you feed it alot, well with the pine softwood it burns fast. The times we have used it was nice, we got the whole package, added the lid, the cover. Had 4 people sitting around with feet up on the round table toasting them, light jackets on, very nice, clear night, bright stars...no moon...add Colored Fire packets

Nope, screened patio and ceiling fan on reverse that keeps the cold air out (bubble) and circulates the warm air from the pit. Its great...if not to warm at times.

Meanwhile in South Dakota, there are CATTLE RUSTLERS!

A ranch had 83 head go missing. That's a $150,000 to $180,000 loss...
A few scenes from Yellowstone are coming to mind...

By the way--- Corson County is basically the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. Law enforcement there is a complete joke if the perps were Native. FBI or Federal Marshalls would have to come in.

I believe that they had a suspect in mind and got dna from a relative, I could be wrong, it's been awhile since I read that story.

Yes, sorry guys, the DNA was of a Great, Great, Great Grand Niece that was taken to get the match from the shawl of a victim...
The wife and I caught this on NewsNation and I found a Short of it to post not realizing it did not mention where the DNA was obtained...

Here is the full story:
