My daughters high school has a policy where all cell phones are collected at the beginning of class. I know some gripe about that-- but check out what this teacher did:

No reports yet on the ship that hit the support. Had the pilot left the ship at that point? Did it lose power?

I am going to assume you are showing the ship has lights and therefore "did not lose power"?

It was simply the first pic I had found of the ship itself.
If I am not mistaken I believe some ships have a separate emergency generator in the event of main engine failure.
Ah, ok.
I was going to say they either restored power or have an APU for systems like this.

Super tragic. They lost power. Full reverse smoke coming out of stack. A ship that big you can't stop. I bet they find out error by crew (intentional?, maybe), not pilot. But something crew error down in the engine room or electrical room
I wonder if the captain was a DEI hire? Or how many of the crew were DEI hires?
According to reports there was a Pilot captaining the vessel.

The USCG records all channel 16 communications continually. They have that Mayday call. I can't find that yet online.

It was stated very soon that there was no indication of terrorism. I wonder how they determined that so fast?
I have read speculation that ship systems could have been hacked. I wonder if that is even possible...

Looks like a span bridge so supported by both ends but take one end away and …..Seems like most of the load was on that one side of the bridge
