The Typical picture of a Perp on Nextdoor-type Apps with Consumer Grade Cameras like Ring, Nest, Arlo, Canary, Wyze, etc.

First off, they shouldn't buy crap NVRs. Dahua NVRs' can easily export video to a thumb drive in MP4 as can Hik's.
Most of the time it is simply a matter of them not taking the time to figure it out, until they need the video NOW.

I've seen BI user's be guilty of doing the same. Couldn't be simpler to export with BI.

I always love those with NVRs that cannot easily export out video and have to take a picture of their monitor (been there LOL it is a royal pain), but even if it were an actual video, not much this can do to find the perps that stole this trailer:

That looks like exacqvision which has exporting. Seems like user error, or which i've encountered, lazy cops who don't want the original quality video and just want to take video on their phone which makes it harder in court when it goes to trial

Another middle of the day theft and this is the best they got. This time at a church where this person broke into the church vans.

The only thing going for them is there probably are not many vehicles that look exactly like this LOL:

now that is a very unique paint job, I bet it blends right in with the other cars LOL

Thankfully this PoS was caught because the father was right there and went after him, but look at this horrible video quality in the middle of the day. To make matters worse, there are obstructions (table, chairs, bushes) that block most of it.

This dude came up to the 6 year old girl and grabbed her private area and tried to drag her by the arm. She screamed and he let go. The father followed him with police on the phone until they arrived.

This picture quality and video is horrible, yet it appears the news blurred the little girl, which based on everything else in the video, nobody would be able to identify her anyway.

Does anyone recognize this truck picked up by a Nest camera that was going thru cars:

The reality of all these crappy images, is that when these images are posted for all to see it will just embolden the criminal to do their work. They see the quality of these images and laugh. That is until they come across a member here that has a very good setup and will provide the quality to pursue prosecution. Once the good quality images show up in the new stories for all to see they will understand that their big box store system is not good enough.

Here is a perv that spent 25 minutes at their front door banging on the door and stripped his clothes off at some point but the police showed up hours after he finally left.

But there are several takeaways from these images:

  • Camera is obviously a cheap wifi based on the pixel mess quality
  • Camera is too high to IDENTIFY. He is looking right at the camera but still poor quality (although someone that knows him may be able to recognize him)
  • Camera sees too much wall so a lot of IR bounce messing with the exposure
  • We know motion-activated floodlight will cause trouble....
  • Once the floodlight kicks on, the money shot is gone because the image is all white and blinded
  • Once the camera adjusts to the floodlight, the person is out of the field of view
  • This camera field of view is great if you want to know if the floodlight is broke LOL
  • You need more than one camera. His entire banging on the door and stripping was not caught on camera

This is a good example of why motion activated floodlights and cameras do not go well together. They MAY have got a good shot but the camera was blinded once he was close enough to the camera because the floodlight kicked on.

Does anyone recognize this peeping tom:

So apparently the video was good enough for people to recognize him and tip the police and he was arrested yesterday.

He is a repeat offender and is a registered sex offender and has 2013, 2015, and 2017 convictions for voyeurism.

He was scheduled to appear in court today on charges and similar to @wtimothyholman LPR success story, this guy made bond and was a no-show for court.

Just a mischievous teletubby wanting to go on a joy ride.
