The Typical picture of a Perp on Nextdoor-type Apps with Consumer Grade Cameras like Ring, Nest, Arlo, Canary, Wyze, etc.

A kids scooter stolen this morning with images done by @looney2ns favorite method - take a picture of the monitor:

And then the quote of the day that someone posted:

"I don't understand why these doorbell camera pictures still come across as so grainy. It's 2023, and we can photograph the surface of the moon, but we can't get a clear picture from someone's front yard."

The Left side picture is actually not so bad, but the right side picture is blur and ghosting really bad.

I gave up on nextdoor, a year or two ago. Too much rampant stupidity on display.

If you don't want the $300-$500 toy stolen, put it the fork up.

Don't take them too serious and just watch their videos and read the comments for fun when your own video is too boring then. :p

I've been saving posts as I find them on Facebook groups.

Comments on this one:
Your best bet is to probably download the raw video file from your NVR and play it back on a 4K tv…..I’m guessing your computer screen isn’t high enough resolution.
The police have tools to further enhance that plate... the take many frames, and overlay the plate in each which will artificially increase resolution.
Give original to the police. They can digitally enhance it. They have the software.

Omg these comments about what the Police can do LOL.

This Ring post from the local chatter page isn't horrible, but they had a lot going in their favor with the amount of light and how close he got to the camera.

Had he only gotten as close as the first images, I doubt he would have been able to be Identified.
