I agree that's a possibility, but also have a related suspicion. I've read that the shooter's rifle did not have a scope. If true, and at the >100 yards distance, is it easy to hit a target the size of a human head? In my limited experience, I think that it's a difficult shot.
I dunno, I've seen that but if you listen carefully to the first 3-5 shots they come pretty quick. I know its nothing special to pull .3 second splits on an AR trigger. I think those are two shots personally but could be
Not with just a little training. I had my wife hitting an 8 inch plate at 100yds in about 30-45 minutes with irons. Maybe some more experienced rifle shooters here can help? @sdkid ?

I think if the shooter had aimed center mass on Trumps BODY, he would have hit. I believe he was going for the head shot and missed, then his shots were all over the place after that until he was down.
If this has starting to sound like a badly written movie, you’re not far off

He probably figured that Trump was wearing a bullet proof vest. So, he went for the head shot. He only missed by and an inch or so. I also find it hard to believe that this kid was that good of a shot and at that range. There are just too many things about this that do not make sense in my mind. IMHO there has to be a lot more to this story. A lot more.
Well there are 3 attendee witnesses who are claiming they saw/heard a shooter on the water tower…. So there’s that.
I don’t necessarily put much faith in them but I’ve seen two of them interviewed on site that day that certainly believe that’s what they saw…
