Almost have it sorted out. One question though. You say that I need to have the PoE channel in manual mode. Where do I change that setting?

Are you blocking out your MAC Address?

Your settings look good, except for the NVR gateway, mine is 8.8.8.8 and not the router.

Have you checked to see if a PC on 192.168.0.x can login to your camera?
http ://192.168.254.4, this will tell you if your static route on your router is working.

If that is the case, I would look at your Windows PC's share/firewall settings again.

I agree with @58chev that your settings look OK.

Does the 254.4 camera config as shown also have the 254.1 address for it's default gateway as does the 254.3 camera?
Which one are you using to test access to the NAS?
Is virtual host active on the NVR?

A couple of tests:
From a PC on the LAN, ping the camera IP address 192.168.254.3
Check what a tracert 192.168.254.3 shows.
If the camera web GUI has a 'test' button for the NTP server, in Time Settings, see if it works OK.

Well, 192.168.254.2-3-4 (the cameras) is not working. Ping gives no results. Tracert the same.

I tried with firewall off, nothing.

Virtual Host is enabled. I can access the cameras from 192.168.0.37:65002 for example.

All the cameras have 254.1 as the gateway.

When typing 192.168.254.1 (which should be the internal NVR IP, for the PoE ports), it lands on the router page (192.168.0.2). I think this could be the culprit.

I just realised that I boobed in specifying what you needed for the static route - but despite that, your screenshots show you set it correctly, with the NVR LAN interface IP address of 192.168.0.37 as the gateway to the POE ports.

Apologies for what? You are helping me a lot! No, it does not mention anything!

Question, before I buy a PoE switch. If I buy a PoE switch and hook the cameras on it, can I then add them to the NVR just like I have them now on the PoE ports of the NVR?

Unfortunately, the tracert shows only the router, 192.168.0.2. Also, if I type the NVR internal IP, 192.168.254.1, shouldnt the NVR show up and not the router config page?
 
Well, found the problem! It appears that RIP is disabled by default on the Netgear R7000.

I was reading many sites and RIP was mentioned in some of them. I then checked what RIP actually is and found out that it was disabled in my router.

So, in case someone else has the same problem, the answer is what alastairstevenson has said so far + enable RIP (version RIP_1 worked for me).

I can connect to them, but cant find the net hdd :(

Yes, NVR POE ports can be re-assigned as LAN connections.

Well, a step or two along the way.
Now to figure out the next one.
 
Well, it looks like, the cameras cannot access the network. Only the network can access the cameras.

Do I have to use the PoE ports even when I connect the cameras to a PoE switch?

Here is a schematic of what I was thinking of doing.

Aha. But from what you are saying and I understand, do I still have to connect the PoE ports (as normal ports) to the simple switch? Cant I just use the single network port of the NVR?
