I believe, in part, conservatives have legitimate livelihood at great risk if engaging in protest. They are commonly successful people who put their efforts toward their livelihood. How many times have you asked yourself "how can these leftist have the time to protest and destroy"? Because they are on the gubermint dole, have no jobs and very little material possessions, that they earned, to lose. When you have nothing better to do it's much easier to protest.

I spent about 2.5 years living in Austin (two separate contracts I worked - IBM and AMD) in the late 90's. In fact, I was in Austin on 9-11. Yup, there were parts of it that were weird but it was a great place to live. Made great friends (all conservatives) volunteering for Habitat for Humanity on Saturdays. Lost a bunch of braincells on 6th Street. It was like a compact "large city" with lots of things to do. Only good memories of Austin too!
