Why we need oversight . . . Its only $600 Billion
The Trump administration has abruptly dropped its insistence on secrecy for a $600 billion-plus coronavirus aid program for small businesses.
The administration announced Friday it will publicly disclose the names of recipients of the taxpayer-funded loans, the amounts they received in ranges, as well as demographic data on the businesses.
The unexpected move came after Democratic lawmakers, government watchdogs, ethics advocates and news organizations called for the administration to make the information public.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin refused to do so at a Senate hearing last week, saying the data on the Paycheck Protection Program was “proprietary information.” The Small Business Administration, which manages the loan program, has only provided general information, such as the total amounts of loans awarded in a given time period.

Do you mean the congressionally-appropriated $600 billion in support of U.S. businesses...predominantly Americans? That $600 billion? How did you feel when O'bama gave billions under cover of darkness to Iran without legislation? (conservative estimate including Obama's relaxed sanctions was $150 billion). Iran then used said funds to go on a terror spree against US forces/allies. Which of these two large sums of money support American taxpayer interests? Which has a traitorous smell about it?

So, what does "it's a gated community" mean? Those inside are accustomed to privilege and can dish it out but they can't take it?
It has to tell people something that all the largest of money making Corporations support the Leftist. AOC who proclaims she is so against the Big Corporations and Big Money is ignorant to the fact that it is Google, Facebook, Twitter etc that make Billions that want the Leftist on their side and are big Democrat donors. It is because these billion dollar corporations want to stifle any competition with more government control that will keep policy in their favor. Like the "Net Neutrality" joke that Google orchestrated, wanting more governmental control to stifle competition and the free market. They even came up with a Social Justice name. Thank God we had a President that put the hammer down on that.

More on the story.

One dead, one injured after shooting inside Seattle's Capitol Hill Organized Protest zone

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another critically injured inside Seattle's so-called "CHOP" or Capitol Hill Organized Protest zone.

Seattle police responded to a report of shots fired in Cal Anderson Park, near the intersection of 10th Ave. and E. Pine Street, at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police tried to find the shooting victims but were met by a "violent crowd" that prevented the officers from safely accessing the victims, according to a release from Seattle police Saturday morning.

So by that analysis, cash that the government was awash in while already running in deficit mode is not that same as other deficit spending? Either way, the government didn't have that cash as a surplus of money hanging around and it was added to the deficit. Then, to add insult to injury, it was used to fund terrorists as beepsilver said. I guess if it wasn't, directly, called deficit spending it was OK to give it to Iran and have them spend it to fund those terrorists and line their elites pockets. One more comment, what makes you think that the "cash" wasn't freshly printed, neatly bundled and then paralletized for shipment to Iran?

For me, it means keeping door to door salesmen and missionaries out. So much fewer of those when you're gated, and when they do show up you can call the police to haul their asses to jail (up to a 6 month jail sentence in Phoenix if you pass through an open gate with no trespassing or soliciting signs posted.) Doesn't really keep anybody else out, anybody who thinks otherwise is stupid.

Talking about Racism in America today...

What do you hear these men talking about the Family; Mother and Father both raising the children together?

What do you hear BLM saying about the Family Structure? "We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement...We foster a queer‐affirming network. "

Mike Wallace...the perfect example of yellow journalism and cowardice.

Morgan Freeman to Mike Wallace: Which month is white history month

Wallace squirms in his chair then....

Mike Wallace to Morgan Freeman: er, uh, um....I'm Jewish

Mike Wallace is what you'd call and anyone would call a "White Guy"...but, he says "I'm Jewish" as to try to play the victim card...he's a victim too, just like black folks. What a coward. ANSWER THE QUESTION WHITE GUY!

I watched most of the video of the cops trying to find the shooting victim. FIrst off, there should be no "police free zone" of "Capital Hill Organized Protest Zone" anywhere in the US. Secondly, the total mess that they are making of, what I can only assume to be,a nice city. Exactly how the local politicians are upholding their oaths of office, which undoubtedly includes swearing to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, is beyond my ability to grasp. To say that they are a disgrace to the offices they occupy, the city they govern, the State they live in and the Country as a whole is just the start. Supporting lawlessness is a total violation of the trust that has been placed in them, no matter what some of their citizens may feel.

Just amazing that the local government in Washington is allowing these anti-american marxist to control that part of the city
They are left wingers themselves. That is why they are supporting them. However there are too many Democrats in Seattle for things to change. They overwhelmingly voted for Hillary Clinton in the last election.
