A Continuing Resolution is a mechanism to extend the existing budget in lieu of actually creating as passing a NEW budget...which avoids a gov't shutdown and kicks the ball down the road, .which Congress has been doing over and over for decades.

"The federal budget is a proposal by the President outlining spending goals and priorities during a given year. Congress debates this funding, and then votes to appropriate funding. However, Congress has only completed this process before the beginning of the fiscal year 3 times in the last 47 years, most recently for FY1997."

YES! This is the correct move for her! Please do! (snicker, snicker)

Unfortunately, based on how unlikable she was in the 2020 primaries, that she still can't finish a sentence without her annoying cackling, and her inability to increase her IQ above 60 in the past four years, she'd never make it out of the primary. Of course, the reason for that wouldn't be her inherent flaws, it would be misogyny and the racsisms....

Ok, thank you. I know what a Continuing Resolution is, I just didn't link it to CR. Sorry, my age catching up with me.

It doesn't fit the narrative of the libtards is why it's not important.

The previous poster suggested that allowing/pursuing/ OK-ing a CR indicated something undesirable in the character of Mike Johnson. I would agree that CRs are an embarrassment as a routine maneuver for they are essentially a 'shortcut' to avoid doing what is Congress's JOB of passing a budget.
HowEVER, note that in this case, this is what he SHOULD do.... Here's why: The Budget is supposed to be outlined by the President. This is where the Executive tells congress and typically the People in the SOTU what his goals and priorities are and Congress is supposed then construct a Budget (Appropriations bill) according to the President's directive; both chambers vote to approve, President signs, This hasn't been done since Clinton(!) but, the point is that IF Congress were to have created a Budget this year, it would reflect BIDEN's agenda and that would suck. It would be fantastic if Trump were to lay out a new Budget in the Spring AND get it passed and signed next year. A new actual Budget that would NOT fund DEI/Trans/Woke/Green spending.

It seems you didn't take into consideration other options available. You against good old government shutdowns?

Speaker Johnson promised he would bring 12 spending bills this past year.
OH ,that's right, Shcumer told him he would not take them up. So CR anf CR.

They try to scare us with a Government Shut-Down. FUCH THEM!
When they shut it down the gov. to force Clinton into a balanced budget (thank you Newt),
he was going to shut down all of the National Parks. So, Arizona told old Bill that if he shut down
the Grand Canyon, the State of Arizona would Eminent Domain the park and own it! (BTW. Name
the only National Park not shut down?)

Look at Steve Scalise sending daggers at Johnson's back during the announcement!
I believe the reason is simple. The current administration is fixing to SHOVE in some estimates,
almost 1 TRILLION DOLLARS out the door before DJT takes over! If the government was
shut down, they could not dispose of all of that money. Hence, Johnson is DIRTY!

Ya want an example of how brain-dead are so-called news 'reporters'?

Walking down a DC hallway asking RFK Jr 'how do you feel about overly-processed foods?'

Seriously, you asked this while being reported. Then you played it back as so-called 'news'?!?
All it showed was how stupid are current-day reporters. Don't even know how stupid they are.
No awareness whatsoever. NPCs. Non-playable characters. Drones (not the UAV kind).

Trump should just announce "Don't bother taking a Federal job, the DOGE will be eliminating those positions and there will be no severance packages". "Don't bother buying those border wall panels, we intend to sue and that'll tie up any border wall steel you purchase FOR YEARS".
