The failing NYT, MSNBC reports that there was a rift between Elon musk and Vivek. Just like they said there was a rift between Elon and Trump.
When it was Vivek who made that post on X in defense of Elon.
Most of the blacklash Vivek got is from trolls and bots who keep repeating the same thing. Remember there was a lot of bureaucrats who feel he is their enemy number one and they will sieze at any opportunity.
There is more to the story.
Vivek was the first person who talked about firing federal workers and cutting down agencies 2 years back.
Elon picked up on this 3 months before the election. He wanted to create a agency to cut down waste and conveniently named it DOGE.
Why I say this is because Elon promoted DOGE coin before which had failed and he had a $ 258 BILLION lawsuit that was about to start. But when Elon conveniently named the agency as DOGE and even using the DOGE coin mascot as the symbol. The price of DOGE coin rised up several times over. After which the lawsuit was withdrawn.
Elon has a history on naming things. Like Tesla products

Model E
Model X
Model Y
Ford owned the the name Model E so he changed to Model Ǝ which is like inverted E.
Also Elon wants a Texas Institute of Technology and Science aka TITS.
While Vivek just wanted to do stuff that he talked about so passionately. From his point of view and his political path. The headline is always ELON DOGE, while the articles do mention Vivek but rarely in any headline or sound bite.
Even in the closed meeting with Congress, house members, they were mainly impressed with Vivek because he is the actual brains behind this but the credit unfortunately always goes mostly to Elon, who was live streaming playing video games from a cottage at Mar-a-lago.
So I see why he wants to exit DOGE, even at DOGE if one believes the reports. The stuff Vivek was asking on Trump admin staff members is a lot. Vivek was not okay with the Omnibus bill and he made it clear on X, even Elon was not happy with the bill but stand down orders came from Trump staff officials and Elon relented. While Vivek was not happy. Trump senior advisor Stephen Miller sent his wife Katie Miller to DOGE and it's all down hill from there.
I think Vivek would have stayed if he had more power and freedom.

My mom has dementia. It is very sad and it does play tricks on you. I remember my mom, when reminded about something she didn't remember correctly, said "oh no, I'm in trouble" because her brain was effing with her and she realized it at that moment.
Biden was clearly suffering from dementia before he ran for POTUS but his scum handlers covered for him while he "campaigned" from his basement. Most ridiculous and frightening thing to happen to the USA. We still don't know for sure who or which specific group of people were running the country up until 12pm ET yesterday.
And Biden was always a scum bully. His hero must have been LBJ as he reminds me of him.
