Times like this it is good to go back and review what emerged during other times of turbulence, and review some of the core concepts.. in particular socialism / Marxism / fascism / national socialism.
A lot of people really do not understand in theory what the differences are. ( in practice they all become authoritarian .. )
This is a long video, by TIK ( "World War II youtube historian" )
"I’m also not saying that National Socialism was Marxism. Marxism is but one version of
Socialism, and there are many versions of Socialism. Marxism is not the core concept of
Socialism. In fact, the idea of Socialism predates Marxism. As I will show later, Socialism is
state-control of the economy. Marxism is a class version of this state control of the economy.
..
I also argue that Fascism was a version of Socialism based on nationality rather than race,
and make the case that National Socialism was not Fascism. They are similar, in that they
both embrace Socialism on a national level, and the Fascists also paint themselves as
somewhere between Capitalism and Marxism in ‘Fascist Third Way’. But they are different
because Mussolini and other Fascists didn’t believe in the Racial Theory of History, and
don’t base their ideology on race. The National Socialists on the other hand, base their
ideology on the race, rather than the nationality. (The race is the nation and the nation is the
race.) Racism is fundamental to National Socialist ideology, and is not fundamental to
Fascism (although some Fascists are racist, just like some Marxists are racist - Stalin, as an
example). In fact, Hitler hated Italian Fascism, and despised Franco’s Fascism - something

Hitler's Socialism | Destroying the Denialist Counter Arguments
"I am a socialist.” - Hitler, from his "Zweites Buch" (Second Book) Page 50.
Some continue to believe that Hitler and National Socialism wasn't REAL (National) Socialism. Some believe that the totalitarian State of the Third Reich had no power at all, and that the market was 'free'. They want to believe that Hitler and his State had NO control over the economy, and that the ideology of National Socialism didn't call for the creation of a 'People's State' after the conquest of Lebensraum. Yes, 80 years after the events in question, many are still pushing a contradictory narrative that directly goes against the colossal amount of evidence pointing towards the opposite conclusion, and then refuse to even consider the possibility that they might be wrong in their interpretation. Well today, we will walk through numerous primary and secondary sources, show the substantial amount of flaws in the denialist argument, and present a solid interpretation of the evidence that makes much more sense than the denialist argument ever has.
