I did not realize that forum contribution was a prerequisite for respect here. My bad. I have to wonder if I just joined a week ago and began posting comments praising DT that you would feel compelled to point out my newness and lack of participation.

I do come here from time to time to read & learn as after the initial question I posted I realized that I had a helluva lot to learn about the technical details that were being discussed in many threads. I became more lf a "lurker" at that point. As I don't know anyone in this forum personally, by default I do respect and appreciate the contributors here. Just because someone holds a contrary view of the world does not necessarily deem them less deserving of respect. Shoot-- some of my best friends... :)

As for my "dumb" comment. Good point-- he is not dumb. And yes, conventional wisdom had him losing to Clinton and I expect no one was more surprised that he won than he was. Of course the fact that he lost the popular vote by over three million is little more than a talking point given the popular vote-- unfortunately-- does not elect a president.

Could I do what DT has done business wise? Well, I'd like to think that if my dad left me 400 million dollars or so that yes, I could. Maybe even manage to avoid the bankruptcies and outright fraudulent enterprises such as Trump University.

As for your comment: "I don't usually get into these kinds of posts..."

Final point... I don't know how old you are or whether you might remember Newsgroups back in the 80s-- way back before what we know today as the Internet? That was my first exposure to these kinds of online political discussions. I'd have to say that the flame wars in many of those groups were far more heated than anything I'm reading here. It didn't take long to realize that no matter how right one thought they were or how forceful you tried to make your point in support of your position, I never heard-- not once-- anyone say something like "Oh yeah, I see your point there".

Just recalling that experience to point out that like yourself, I usually just decline to get involved in these kinds of political arguments (with anonymous participants) realizing how fruitless it is. Obviously made an exception to my rule in this case. In the end, all that matters is that we all go vote their conscience in November and see what happens. ;)
It's very clear your rant against the president comes from a position of hate, hence the backlash you and others here get for deriding the president. Because any "facts" presented against him are either outright lies, assumptions based on lies, intentional errors of omission or you simply resort to childish name calling or attacking his appearance--I'm sure you're going to look fabulous in your 70s. I'm also sure you were tempted to go drink bleach a couple of months ago. Did you know President Trump didn't inherit anywhere near $400M; check your "facts." Either you're ignorant of mainstream media deception or you're complicit and you too like to bolster your arguments with lies. Trump supporters know the man isn't perfect, but he's doing the job we elected him to do, no thanks to the sore-losing, hypocritical, double-standard, lying, backstabbing politicians, criminals and most of the media trying to stand in his way. We don't care about his hair and we don't care about his speaking style--we certainly don't care that he's not politically correct, in fact we applaud it. Until about 2015 the democrat party thought pretty highly of the guy....wonder what changed.

If you think the US has become a laughing stock because of Trump, you've severely misread the situation....no doubt because you believe what you hear in the mainstream media. What you perceive as laughter is just the opposite. Other heads of state respect the US more than ever because President Trump holds them accountable--in some cases they fear and despise him because Trump has eliminated the status quo. They know attempts to take advantage of the US are no longer tolerated and in some cases costly. I wish people like you were smart enough to see past the disinformation coming from the childish democrat party and stop contorting the truth to suit your pathetic arguments. You and others who don't get your way are quick to try to change the constitution to suit your needs; some liberal federal judges are trying to do that very thing. I'm sure you don't care why we have an electoral college as part of our election process, and before the outcome on election night in November 2016 you were likely very much in support of the process. You also probably think we need more justices on the supreme court too. You probably supported the idea of a wall between the US and Mexico until President Trump started building it. You also probably think Trump put kids in cages. You look the other way while rioting continues unabated because you support liberals' right to destruction. Did you let your kids destroy your property without consequence when they threw a tantrum? Probably not, so why is it ok to riot in Portland or other democrat-run cities? Why is it ok to all but ban the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat Covid? Why is it ok for Obama to flout the constitution for DACA but not to eliminate it? Why is it not ok to ban certain countries from flying to the US to defend against terrorism until a vetting process can be put in place? Why is it not ok to require an ID to vote when you have to have one to drive? You already know the answers--it's because you hate our president even though he's doing what's right for ALL of us. You could learn from him and hold the democrat party accountable.

Trump - the biggest threat to our democracy. . . and the biggest liar

The U.S. Park Police and Secret Service violently routed protesters from Lafayette Square last month without apparent provocation or adequate warning, immediately after Attorney General William Barr spoke with Park Police leaders, according to an Army National Guard officer who was there.
The account of National Guard Maj. Adam DeMarco challenges the Trump administration’s explanation that vicious attacks by protesters led federal forces to turn on what appeared to be a largely peaceful crowd June 1 in the square in front of the White House. Law enforcement and security officers that night clubbed and punched protesters and unleashed mounted officers and chemical agents against them in one of the most controversial confrontations at the height of this year’s nationwide protests over the killing of Black people at the hands of police.
The forceful clearing of Lafayette Square, long one of the nation’s most prominent venues for demonstrations, came minutes before President Donald Trump appeared in the area without notice, on his way to stage a photo event in front of a historic church nearby.
DeMarco’s account was in prepared testimony for his appearance Tuesday before the House Natural Resources Committee, which is investigating the use of force — and who directed it — against crowds in the square that night. The National Guard officer is expected to invoke the Military Whistleblower Protection Act, which in part says that no one can block a member of the armed forces from lawful communications with Congress.
Committee Chairman Raul Grijalva, an Arizona Democrat, said Monday that from DeMarco’s written testimony, “it’s pretty obvious that at the highest levels the calls were being made,” although the testimony does not give any explicit details of anyone giving orders. The Justice Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment Monday.
Acting Park Police Chief Gregory T. Monahan defended the law enforcement response in his prepared testimony. Repeating earlier statements, he said that in the days before the forceful clearing of Lafayette Square, protesters had hurled bricks, rocks and other items at officers, injuring at least 50 officers.
Monahan did not address whether protesters in Lafayette Square launched any attacks against law enforcement before the action on June 1.
Videos and the accounts of journalists and protesters who were present that night depict the crowd as largely peaceful before the rout. Democratic lawmakers have challenged the administration to provide evidence of any crowd violence warranting the sudden use of brute force to drive out protesters.
“On the whole, the United States Park Police acted with tremendous restraint in the face of severe violence from a large group of bad actors who caused 50 of my officers to seek medical attention,” Monahan writes. “Our actions as an agency on June 1 centered around public safety and the safety of my officers.
Monahan and the Trump administration also cite plans to build a fence to block protesters from the square as another factor leading authorities to clear the area.
The administration has previously denied that law enforcement and security forces cleared the square to make way for Trump’s appearance before news cameras. Trump thrust a Bible in the air in front of St. John’s Church in a show of authority against protesters, blamed for starting a small fire in a basement at the church on a previous day.
DeMarco says the rout started shortly after Barr and Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, appeared in the square, where Barr appeared to confer with Park Police leaders, he says.

“From what I could observe, the demonstrators were behaving peacefully,” when Park Police, the Secret Service and other, unidentified forces turned on the crowd, DeMarco wrote in his testimony. The legally required warnings to demonstrators before clearing the square shortly after were “barely audible” from his position 20 yards (18 meters) away, DeMarco said. Protesters were gathered still farther away, and gave no sign of hearing the warnings, he said.
Park Police and other officers then began suddenly routing the crowd without warning to National Guard forces present, DeMarco said.
Full Coverage: Racial injustice
A Park Police liaison officer told DeMarco that his forces were only using “stage smoke,” not tear gas, against the crowd. DeMarco said the stinging to his nose and eyes appeared to be tear gas, however, and said he found spent tear gas canisters in the street later that evening.
The Park Police, a force of a few hundred officers nationwide, oversees a handful of the nation’s most iconic federal lands and monuments.
Grijalva said lawmakers had also asked for recordings of the law enforcement and security forces’ radio traffic that night. They were told by the administration that a “technological glitch” prevented the recordings, he said.
DeMarco says he was the appointed liaison at the event for the Interior Department’s Park Police and the National Guard and was standing near a statue of Andrew Jackson, as Barr and other senior officials involved congregated.
DeMarco describes a quick conversation with Milley, the Pentagon’s top general, at the time in the square that DeMarco says gave no warning of the imminent push by the Park Police, the Secret Service and others against demonstrators.
“As the senior National Guard officer on the scene at the time, I gave General Milley a quick briefing on our mission and the current situation,” DeMarco writes. “General Milley told me to ensure that National Guard personnel remained calm, adding that we were there to respect the demonstrators’ First Amendment rights.”
Shortly after Park Police and others forced out fleeing protesters, Milley walked in military fatigues alongside Trump as the Republican president strolled to nearby St. John’s Church.
Milley subsequently apologized for taking part, after heavy public criticism. Milley said he “should not have been there” and his involvement “created the perception of the military involved in domestic politics.”
DeMarco previously served in the U.S. Army, including a combat assignment in Iraq.
More hate for the president I see. Nothing wrong with bashing the heads of rioters/aggressive protesters. The accounts of selective videos, protesters and "media" don't hold water.

Nice post, but the lib will not read it or acknowledge this post because it is the truth. The only way to change a lib and their thinking. Is to remove them from sucking on the governments tit for free shit and kick them out of their moms basement to support their own self.
Most libs are leeches on other people's asses.

What a bunch of hooey. They were trying to take down the statue of Andrew Jackson. They set fire to the church. You are living in a world of denial with all the rioting that is happening in Portland, Seattle and Chicago for openers. According to your sources these are all "peaceful" protesters. You will noticed that since President Trump stepped in the rioting in Washington has subsided into a low roar.

Wow-- so much anger, misinformation and false assumptions I don't know where to start!

re. "Childish name calling... attacking his appearance". Uh, really? Attended any MAGA rallies lately?

And lies? Again, really?!? Last I heard our pathological liar president was somewhere around TWENTY THOUSAND lies. I mean, the man can't open his mouth without spewing out some blatant provable lie.

I also don't particularly care about this hair or his speech patterns-- although I have to admit it's fun to poke fun at him. Big fan of Sarah Cooper. But surely the far right would never resort to that kind of disrespectful humor. :screwy:

What I do care about is the unbelievable damage he's done and continues to do to our country. I care that he's little more than a pawn in the hands of enemies to our country and clearly lacks the intellect or knowledge to even begin to effectively represent the United States.

I care that the trump swamp is unlike anything we've seen in recent history. Makes Nixon look like an amateur. How many is it now that have been either indicted, convicted or under investigation?

I care that some of the most prominent, respected people in his administration, people who have dealt with him directly have come out against him. His own Secretary of State called him a "fucking moron" to mention just one of a long list.

I care that he dismisses intelligence information from the most respected members of that community and instead, takes the word of leaders like Putin, withdraws troops from Syria after a conversation with Erdogan thereby putting the lives of our allies in that region at serious risk, praises Chinese dictators (before he needed a scapegoat for the Pandemic of course), and writes love tweets to one of those repressive regimes in the world in North Korea.

I care that tens of thousands have died due to his complete lack of leadership and inability to even begin to come up with a plan to deal with the most dangerous pandemic in our lifetimes. Mask?? Nope-- "LIBERATE STATES!".

I care that, despite your disjointed irrationale statements to the contrary, that the United States has indeed lost so much standing among our allies. Look it up, they "fear and despise him" simply based on his actions. He's a clear and present danger to democracies all over the world. He's more like a petulant 12 year old in a perpetual state of self pity and denial than any kind of sane, rational, informed world leader.

As for your other whacky assumptions about my positions and those of others, not even close. But I have to ask where exactly do you turn to be informed about what's going on in the world if not the mainstream media? No wait... don't bother. I can guess...
The main stream media has become nothing but an arm of the Democrat Party. As to wearing masks that is up to each state. There is not a one size fits all. States like Wyoming have a very low Covid rate. It is up to the governors of each state to monitor there situation .

I am not a fan of wearing a mask. Proper hygiene and health will fight most bugs.
Hell, if we keep on wearing these mask, are immune system will weaking. Because we are not exposing are self to build up are immune system.
Look at it this way. Later when the mask wearing is over and you come in contact with a person that has the common cold. You will get severally sick because your immune system is weak from wearing the mask.

More on that "peaceful" protest in Portland. Bwahahahahahahaha

Portland police: Rifle magazines, Molotov cocktails found
Police in Portland, Oregon, say a bag containing loaded rifle magazines and Molotov cocktails was found late Sunday at a park near where protests have erupted for two months following the death of George Floyd

OK-- I just have to ask-- just where do you get your news? MSNBC? Is Rachel Maddow your hero? CNN... Don Lemon?? LOL Maybe your hard-hitting news source is The View, or the Talk, or Comedy Central. Seriously. NPR perhaps?? "All Things (LEFT) Considered" with Ari Shapiro? Maybe you're a fan of NowThis, or Vox, or Slate, or the Atlantic, or NYT, or LAT, or WaPo, or fucking HuffPo? Please--- enlighten us all on your unimpeachable sources of fact that drive your cute little echo chamber. :)

@tymb I find it amusing for a radical liberal like yourself, you choose to live in a small town where there are only 0.44 percent black folks. FYI, the reasons why our "allies" hate trump is because he ended their FREE ride on our backs. They hate him because he is for the people and not socialist/communist dictatorships that control its people with "free" entitlements for parasitic leeches. This "dumb" president turned obama's blunders around in but a few years. Imaging what he could do if you and the press stop lying?

The press doesn't lie. They do cherry pick. They are curators of the Liberal "agenda". They source incidents that match the national agenda and run them into the ground. However, if the storyline differs, (but important) it will be a 2 minute/page 3 small article that disappears immediately. Just look at one of their own that they recently destroyed. Michael Moore challenges the very fabric of the Green Movement and there was more time blasting the results and inaccuracies then calling out some of the obvious: Biofuels and precious metal mining practices are absurd right now for a marginal improvement. Everyone wants a greener environment. But, we aren't stupid enough to kill the forest or pay 3 times the taxes to do it. The industry needs to evolve in a capitalist economy.

Anyone that is halfway intelligent can see what is going on with the media. There are no more news anchors. There are pundits. Assholes. Unfortunately, it's the Republican/Conservatives that can blame themselves for this "movement" on the side of the left. Through the 70s and definitely early 80s, it was the right wing pundits that had all the press. The Liberals/Democrats aka Social Democrats have taken that and run with it.. They have hijacked just about everything including unbalanced streaming of offerings on services such as Netflix and even Disney.

As for the election, Trump had it in the bag. The polls were wrong when he was elected and the polls were wrong leading up to this election. The wildcard has been COVID-19. 2 aspects to what is influencing:
  1. The Liberal media avoids China as the source of the issue and for delays doing anything about COVID early on.. This is where there has been zero research into wet markets, research, source of COVID-19... because it would take away focus and influence item 2. (negatively)
  2. Trump is responsible. This is their focus at the moment. Nothing else matters because this is their ONLY opportunity to "steal the election" as they have been whining about for 4 years. Unfortunately, Trump hasn't helped himself on this one. Not taking precautions early on cost him. The economy should have opened up ....but with a mask as a blatant example. The fact that many countries took different paths is irrelevant. The media will hang Trump on this point alone..
The depressing part in all of this is: Journalism is dead. All hail propagandization through social justice/misinformation.

I remember seeing a story on the 1890's, journalism, big money, manipulation, among other points of the time. I truly believe everything is cyclical. We are either there now or "coming soon to a theater near you..".
