It's still anoying that the cam can't be updated via the NVR.
Have to unplug it from the NVR and use separate POE injector and connect it to my homenetwork

You can't connect directly to the camera IP address and update from within its own GUI? What prevents you from doing that?

There is the link for IE (virtual host) if the cameras are hooked up directly to the NVR PoE ports ...

On the IPC-T5442T-ZE , this firmware the SMD is not working correctly. If I set it for human only or automobile only, it takes a snap shot every second all day long and writes to the SD Card.
Video will record at will, either with an actual object in the frame of view or not. Its erratic to when it records.
The sort feature for the most part, but not all only correct sorts some of the clips and not all.
Again, this is writing these file's to the internal SD card.
Yesterday when I looked, I had 5986 stills recorded one each second.
I set the sensitivity to low, and today as this point I still have recorded 1362 snaps, one each second.
Today.

Yesterday.

Yesterday sorted by SMD human filter. Majority are false positives.

Video Captures to SD card. SMD set for human, picks up both vehicles humans, and just random captures.

Smart IR is better, but like @Wildcat_1 mentions, it has a ways to go yet.

I've opted to believe that SmartIR is clearly absent from this model; it was never meant to be. By the time SmartIR works (or if it ever works), a successor would have already been announced. We're not stupid.

The "Focus and Zoom" tab of my IPC-HFW5442E-Z4E no longer shows video when using this firmware. If you want to focus now you have to open the camera up in another program (e.g. Blue Iris) and focus from there. Andy have you reported this to Dahua?

What is smartIR and how should it be functioning exactly ?

Any ideas?
I’ve tried resetting the nvr - same thing.
Haven’t left it more for 5min though...

Tried Firefox instead... no luck...
