If I recall, at the time there were a lot of chinese sellers installing badly hacked firmware.

Yes, the first version of the updated hacked firmware at the time were flawed with bootloops.
But it doesn't excuse the poor customer response. Maybe he was getting a lot of grief with the firmware problems.
On the other hand - I've had very good results and communications from CCTV Camera Wholesale, 2 NVRs and a half dozen cameras, another 2 on the way after problems with 2 other sellers.

FYI, CCTV Camera Wholesale let me know this morning that the hikvision PTZ currently has a 20 day lead time. So I canceled the order because that is simply too late. Some sellers I've dealt with, even good old CCTV CAMERA CHINA would just let the order sit for that full 20 days before shipping it and never say a word.
